i would recommend the dvico tvix to anyone though, having tried many models, from low end market to high end...
ofcourse it's more expensive, but would avoid loosing data (the number of times i've had to reformat hd's for the media player to re-recognize the movies on the media player)

The Tvix does look classy!
Only 160gb storage though.
Can you swap the HDD in the Tvix like you can in this cheapo?

This offer's been on since before Christmas (I got one then), and I have to say, it does a fantastic job. All bar one divx file has played faultlessly, and it's very handy to be able to have so many connection options. Great for showing people without a PC or a new tv the latest divx files, or moving around large amounts of data.

I couldn't agree more! I've had 2 maplin units for years and both of them have perfomed faultlessly all this time. :)

I got the 500GB at the beginning of the year, nice piece of kit until it developed cooling problems after a couple of weeks.
Beware Maplins will not exchange any products with HDD's in until they have been inspected, as of today I've been waiting 4 weeks, they estimate another 3 weeks for repair/exchange!
