Seems cheap for a 32GB Class 10 Card.

Worth a look.

From the website :

"WWOOOOOAAAHHH THERE!! 7dayshop have really smashed it this time! The 'Professional' Series of memory cards offer a very high-speed (Class 10), high-capacity card suitable for use in the latest digital cameras, camcorders, mobile phones, and other SDHC compatible devices at a very affordable price. In fact, not affordable…..try the lowest ANYWHERE!!

As users of photographic equipment ourselves, we are more than aware of how quickly you can rack up the cards, BUT now with 32GB on an SD card? That’s what we are talking about! The fact that it is of a very high speed (Check test results for proof!) makes this card not just for photography but perfect for hours of high quality video recording too.

General info
Store thousands of photos, hours of video, or hundreds of music albums on this SD High Capacity memory card.

- 32GB Capacity
- Class 10 (20MB/s Read / 19MB/s Write)
- Ideal for flash memory based camcorders
- FAT32 file system
- RoHS compliant
- Compatible with SD Specification v.2.0

A critical element that’s often overlooked when evaluating SDHC cards for use in camcorders is speed, especially when filming with a high definition camcorder.

With a read speed of 20MB/s and a write speed of 19MB/s our 32GB SDHC Class 10 memory card is more than ready to capture all types of video, so you can be sure it will suit your needs

SDHC is not backwards compatible, so be very sure that your device is SDHC enabled and will accept the card, BEFORE ordering please. "

Wow! Fantastic price for the spec. I'm a bit wary of cheap unbranded memory cards, though...

the price is good for speed but the question remain what about reliablity? is this some chinese re-branded product?

Class 10 meant to be the fastest official rating these days. So yes this is way beyond your car stereo's requirement. My VW RNS510 happily takes a oldass SD(non HC) which is many times slower than this

I know its only a badge cos 7dayshop is too small to open a factory to product these themselves, but would prefer a Transcend/PNY/Toshiba branded over 7ds brand despite they may be produced in the same plant!

Stunning price... but if im putting 32GB of anything on one disk it must be memory I can trust. 4GB maybe not so much but this is still a banging price!

Same, 8gb class 10 are still not fast enough for 1080p recording on my Canon 550D, lets hope a 32gb solves the problem!

Everything is made in China these days, almost. Including precision & hi-tec.

Still amuses me that people still use the word Chinese to imply low quality.

I use a class 6 card in my Canon 550d and it records 1080p fine. A bigger capacity card isn't going to make any difference. The read/write speeds of the card is what determines whether or not it is capable of recording HD video.
#19
Yeh a typical class 6 should be fine for 550D, and you'll probably find an 8 or 16Gb writes faster than the equivalent same class 32Gb version.

ordered, thanks OP

If you had a genuine class 10 card you wouldn't be saying that. The Canon 550D records video in around 48mbps which results in a transfer rate of around 6MB/s link to review. That means anything with a minimum write speed of 6MB/s will be fine. Most class 6 cards write at more than 6MB/s.

You should know all this TOTO.

That's not true. There are a lot of things produced in South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and Mexico. On average better quality than China products. High end electronics are produced in Japan and Europe (Digital Camera and TV).

Anyone else joining the "all eggs in one basket" crew ???
I was refunded on a class 10 sd card that wasn't 'fast enuff'
Everyone should test the write speed of any sd cards esp. if they are for high demand use eg. HD camcorder.
#27
Some hardware may need a firmware upgrade to take full advantage of class 10 cards as it has been demonstrated that not all devices fully support class 10 specification. (Daft, I know!)
#28
Ordered good for me nice spot.
#29
Don't need one, ordered on nonetheless ... WIll find a use for it later on

I wouldn't trust a no name one for my hd camcorder film but for anything else its worth the risk.

Can you suggest a decent program to do this?

Also, should they be formatted to fat32 or something different?

As someone that visits China on a regular basis I can tell you that cheap copy memory or cheap products using memory that pour out of China are rubbish. I think it is right to have concerns about any item that is very cheap and comes from China. Those concerns may be proved wrong but only an amused idiot wouldn't have them.

h2testw

And fat32 is the standard (like it or not, I don't myself). So unless you know you can format it as something else, it's best to go for fat32 for maximum compatibilty.

cheers, much appreciated :-)

As a world traveller I can tell you any cheap product from any country is rubbish! You get what you pay for! Tell us what memory that is made in Germany and UK that is cheap and not rubbish? More to the point, each type of product are made to many design and pricing points. For simplicity: say GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE qualities... they are priced at different prices. Therefore you can get premium to low qualities from China or any where else. This site is about deals that are best value for money and the products from 7DAYSHOP are usually decent qualities though I have had the odd items which were dead on arrival e.g. OEM battery (but about 1 in 10 that is bad). Even at 7dayshop you will find similar products priced very differently due to quality difference.

Slightly on topic - the card seems OK, but for one this size you wouldn't want to fill it with your photos for it to then fail (although all manufactured goods for a failure %)...

Slightly off topic

Well, next time try Hong Kong instead. In Hong Kong if you know where to look you can get the good quality stuff that's made in China for a good price. I remember buying a 1GB memory stick some years ago (still going strong), better (read/write speeds) and cheaper than the equivalent Japanese one at the time. The market in HK is highly competitive - I really wish UK would catch up some day...also good for buying Japanese gadget stuff that you just wouldn't see in the UK.

As a time traveller my simple point was referring to having concerns about cheap chinese memory.
