32gb iPhone 3gs on Vodafone £89.00

Called Vodafone this morning to upgrade to iPhone. Was looking to order the 16gb 3gs in white on the £35/month 2 year contract, with phone costing £89.

Was told they were out of the 16gb phone but they would give me a 32gb for the same price, so snapped their hands off. Note, this was for an upgrade so unsure if available to all, or whether it applies to the black phone, but I'm dead chuffed with my deal!

Can't wait for it to arrive now...sad geek that the iPhone makes me!

They are REALLY GOOD but REALLY EXPENSIVE
Aple have got everyone bent over with their teousers down and are having a REALLY good time doing it :w00t::w00t:

I know what they are all about to apple ££££££££££££££££££'s......I would love one but unless you've had a labottomy, or they drastically drop the price, they are just too many ££££££££££'s

Haven't voted either way

What was your original contract cost per month (i'm £15 discounted down to £3 per month - :) )
#7
Original contract was £30/month...

Newbie on here...didn't know the iPhone factor was that cold. On face value, if you've decided to go for one of em (and yeah, I know they're expensive and all) this is still a pretty decent offer. Thought it worth sharing, to see if others could benefit. Perhaps reconsider that thought next time...

In my most humble of opinions, I really do think a Jailbroken Iphone is the best smartphone in the market currently (for my needs at least) Admittedly, the iphone is actually a pretty poor phone in the typical sense but its so much more than just a phone. A lot of the shortcomings of the iphone can be overcome by using a simple jailbreak called blackra1n.
Take for example, the inability to run more than one app at a time, there's an app for that! Backgrounder allows you to run several applications simultaneously. Another gripe with the iphone is the lack of customisation which is solved by using Winterboard, it enables you change pretty much anything on the phone, from the slider to icons etc.
One of the most valuable features for me is internet tethering using MyWi, which allows you to create a local wifi hotspot very simply so you could use the phones 3G connection to access the internet from your laptop. I know you could do this without jailbreaking but an additional £15 a month is a bit much don't you think?
This really is just a short list of features, theres so much more you can do with an iphone. Obviously, there are risks associated with jailbreaking so I'd advise you do some research before you do anything but for me personally, the benefits considerably outweigh the risks.
Then there's the price, I actually got a really good deal via O2's retention department, yes I know it doesn't apply to everyone but I was able to get the 32gb iphone 3GS on a £35 month plan for 18 months for free, normally costs £250 plus i think.
If anyone needs any help with anything I've mentioned, message me & I'll get back to you when I can.

The new iPhone is due out in the next 2-5 months. If Apple continue according to past form the next update will be a significant one as the last one was just incremental (from 3G to 3GS - just a new camera, compass and speed increase). It'd be a bit annoying to get tied into a 2 yr contract, spending a year and a half stuck with the 'old' model after the new one comes out. My guess for the next one is HD video, 5 mp camera and OLED screen - it'd be worth waiting a few months to find out what is up Apple's sleeve...

Agreed, at least wait until end of Jan by which time there will hopefully be an announcement about a new model...

good deal as i too was on a 35 a month contract so at upgrade time i got this phone too. i pay the same amount every month to what i'm used to. with a fab phone.

only quible is the battery life is rubbish. if its in sleep mode its great...but that means not touching it! if you use it you can literally watch the battery life going down at roughly 1% every couple minutes...sometimes quicker.

iphones are so so over rated! I have a iphone 3gs and a 9700 bold and the bold wipes the floor with it,i need my iphone on charge constantly and ive had it 3 days, comedy phone.

As candyman says, it's more than just a phone. Unfortunately, it's also not quite a good phone yet. I know a few posters on HUKD have sold their iphones and bought an ipod and a decent phone and pocketed the difference.

I remember when the 3GS came out all those who thought they'd just bagged a great deal on the 3G biched and moan about how unfair it was that they were locked into 2 year contract. Like it wasn't their choice! I'm sure the same will be true in a couple of months when the new (ever so slighty upgraded but still not up to spec) model comes out.

900 mins, unlimited texts/interweb, after quidco 11.66 a month on Voda.....

I'd go for 12 months on the above, buy an iphone outright - upgrade when new one arrives ;-)

Still a good deal currently for the 32g 3GS (dependant if others received the same courtesy though), regardless of newer Iphones coming out this is the best out there at the moment so im voting hot.

to Burty who has calculated that if getting this phone on a contract would cost £929 over two years...you are wrong.

out of the contracted price plan only £10 a month goes towards the phone. the rest is for the plan itself.

if you pay a downpayment of £89 and 2 years or £10 a month actually equates to £329!!!!!!!!!! so its a saving of about £150! More if you are given the 32gb version like the poster of this deal - the sim free version is retailing at £550 and the o2 payg is £450
