Christ knows why the iphone 4 is nearly 3 times this price. Hot though.

Heres hoping the in-store price is the same as the online price as you only get 20% of the in-store price on the day of purchase. Wouldn't be the first retailer to artificially inflate the in-store prices when they have such promotions on.

Because people will pay it!

Absolutely fantastic device. Plenty of apps to do all kind of things - I use mine to control Ableton Live for music making, among plenty of other things.

If you have a smartphone already, have a look at jailbreaking your device and using an app called iBluever to wirelessly tether the two together. This gives you full 3G access, basically giving you an iPhone for a fraction of the price.

Have some heat!

keeping the price high makes it seem a superior product to people. Lower the price to £99, and everyone will have one, it all of a sudden doesn't seem as good.

I'm an iPhone4 user but by no means an Apple fanboy; I prefered the usability & design compared to other smartphones I tried. Yeah you'll pay £500+ for the handset on its own compared to £250 normally for the iPod but there are differences in addition to its phone/3G capabilities.

The camera on the iPhone compared to the iPod is 5 megapixels to 0.7, with the phone having a flash & HDR. The retina display is of a higher quality too (try looking at both together especially from an angle & you'll see what I mean). The phone has a GPS chip built in (in addition to free available satnav software this is a big plus). The phone has 512 MB of RAM compared to 256MB on the Touch. Also, the chassis etc is new on the phone but the Touch uses old 3G/3GS architecture. That's about as far as my technical knowledge goes & if there is more or I am incorrect on any point i'm sure someone will say so.

Obviously there is a one off payment for the Touch whereas you'll have to keep forking out to use the iPhone for what it is meant. You will get the handset for a decent price or free if you're on a contract but you've got to take that into consideration.

As far as the deal goes, 20% off is bluddy hot!! 8)

I picked the wrong week to have broken the screen on my old ipod classic........decisions, decisions, decisions. Should I buy this at £200 or a new acer laptop at £289 on sale today at ebuyer as my lappy also on the way out and stick with my trusted 2gb mp3 player for the train? Opinions would be appreciated..........

iphone is a phone, better display viewing angle, gps, better scratch resistant and most importanly, internet everywhere with 3g.

Ask yourself "do I really need this?"

If the answer is yes, think again.
#13
Its £2 dearer than asda for the 32GB, and £32 dearer than asda for the 8GB, so getting the 32GB is defo the best option. Heat added.

I would love a Mac computer, but by keeping the price high, I can't justify spending £699 on an entry-level one, when for the same price, I can get a near-top end PC, and probably a monitor and whatever else. Stupid Apple.

me neither, but then just look at some of the real hot stuff , hoe many actully existed and how many people actually purchased or made use of the offer, henry hoovers at christmas ect!

there is this big fuss about tweeking peoples voting power but if you get more "power for a post like this ( op no offence to you but just using this as an example) ,than the original voucher post what would you do if you wanted to get a hot vote?

another example

Because the majority of people only look at Deals. I only become aware of a voucher when a Deal gets posted using it.

btw, you must print and take the voucher. Lady in front of me had it on her phone and they wouldn't accept it.

Not being funny, but that doesnt amount to an additional £400 worth of material.

I wouldn't mind at all if it was a reasonable markup. But I mean, 500%? Apple's markup, has arguebly pushed everyone else's up too.

Why do people just **** of Apple products when they haven't got one..... the pricing of their products is simple... they are just within reach of ordinary hard working people.... Therefore making it possible for the masses to buy if they want to. If they don't want to then thats there choice and its fine. There are some great alternative products out there.

Buy the way I'm typing this on a Macbook.

There's is a dedicated section for users to buy and sell from each other right here...

ProTip: typing in all caps is not going to make someone want to buy from you more than someone else. If anything, it will probably have the opposite effect.

I thought that was political double-speak for 'the proles'. There are plenty of people who work hard but can't afford these. And you might be 'ordinary', but not everyone else on this forum is.

Signed, the Thought Police. ;)

$188 dollars you say? About £120, leaving a £360 'profit'.

So if I gave you £480 today, would you be so kind as to put one of these together for me?
Don't forget access to the App store, and I'll expect warranty repairs in the first year also.
Oh, and it must work with iTunes.

You can keep any change left over.

google is your friend,
however i think you already know the answer to your questions and therefore stop being a TROLL!
everyone knows what an ipod touch entails, its not bought due to its amazing media playing capablilites, or versatility. its apps are its main selling point, it doesnt need to play your divx or mkv files, and OFCOURSE it will use iTunes. It might be an average piece of software, but it terms of music management its great for people who want all their stuff in one location. if you cant even convert your files to the appropriate file types, which are themselves very common (mp4/m4v video and mp3 etc. audio) then well you stick to your app-less media player.

I've had an Iphone before (3GS), and an android. So im not totally bias. I'm guessing you currently own an iphone?

I'm not trolling.. I'm stating the mark up apple make on this is silly for what you get. Let's see what the spec of this new iphone is when its revealed, ey?
#38
none left at the Tamworth branch.
#39
The markup apple make is normal. What annoys me is the fact they release a "new" one every year with an extra feature they could have added in the first place. And you have to pay for USB. And no flash. And everything costs more for them in general.

Dont mind paying a premium if everything afterwards is cheap - but to pay a premium and then pay a premium for all accessories etc. Thats annoying. Not to mention annual upgrades...

See, I also agree. I think the same about nightclubs, if it is expensive to get in, atleast make the drinks slightly cheaper. Or free entry and expensive drinks. Boil's down to greed though.
