What a bargain, yeah it may not be as quick as other drives, but for using it as an extra drive on the pc or mac, it's perfect for me.

I've got a drawer full of various sizes of this drive in my desk at work.

It's one of those nasty cheap ones that are printed with company logos and given away at marketing events.

Not worth the money IMO.

It looks like the computer shopper one I got, but it was in black X)

For some reason I saw the title and thought it was a Sony memory stick but no, it's a USB Flash drive. Doh!

Looks to be the same one as 7dayshop keep knocking out for around the same price.

Seems a bargain at first glance, but if you want to put more than about 8 gig on there in one go be prepared to make it an overnight job. Horrendously slow...

Heat added, as it's a lot of flash storage for the price - so long as you're not bothered about transfer speeds.

Thanks for that.

Anyway, of course this is going to be dog slow. It's £20 for christ's sake! I've got a 7DayShop one (bought ages ago) and it works perfectly. I bought it knowing it would be very slow.

I did the same promotion and got the same flash drive, you're talking about.

There's a reason why these flash drives are cheap and you can see for yourself by running h2testw. http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold-standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/ . My Computer Shopper one lost ~400MB out of 1GB and the one I bought off ebay in 2007 lost 6GB out of 8GB

Most people seem to find these 7dayshop ones just slow, but I wouldn't want to buy something made in the same factory as fakes. It wouldn't be anything new for a reputable shop to sell fake flash memory:

I'm an IT technician at a college and we sell similar USB sticks to this with our logo on the side.
And they're are a total pain in the ****. They're cheap and flimsy and are always failing or breaking.

It's a great price but don't expect it to last you a lifetime. And be sure to keep a backup of everything you store on one these incase it decides to break one day. Unlike my students that decide store a whole years worth of work on one of these with no backup, and complain to me that they've lost everything.

Compatible With USB1.1

Noting a few negative comments here, which manufacturers are recommended for flash drives?

Pretty much anything but unbranded flash drives are safe. Sandisk ones are often on Hukd and personally, they've never done me wrong.

very low quality on these, would stay away!

Weve got the same kind, 16GB ones, i think we paid £2-3 each for em when buying thousands in bulk. Got 10-15 of em at home, 2/3 of em work and the other ones are a right pain.

I'd wait for the Corsair Voyager Refurbs to go on sale again.

Have had a few of these in the past and the last one totally wiped all the information, music and images off within the first 10 days :(

Now for around that price you can still get a refurbed portable hard drive off eBay, this is a good price though don't get me wrong :D

Think I am now just wary of them because of last time...

If they were that cheap then they must be using fake or faulty flash memory. The wholesale price of 16GB chips is more than that (currently $5.00 I think http://www.dramexchange.com/) and the market has crashed recently, so it would have been a lot higher a while ago.

Kingston flash drives have always been good for me.

Seems quite reasonable and actually much better than many. 15MB/s write and 20MB/s read. You could do a lot worse.

ive had a 32gb one from 7day shop for ages. looks the same. and had no probs whatsoever.

tis fine for putting videos on and then watching on tv via a media player...

Is this good? I'm not so sure.
I recently bought a 1Tb HD for a smidge over £40 which is much better value than £20 for just 32gb.

you can't compare a tiny flash drive to a 1tb drive

flash drives are for ultra convenience. Compare like with like. As such, this is a redhot price. But would you trust your files on it? hmm

Now showing as £21.99.

or get one from 7day shop for £20.99.

Thanks to your crafty edit, it looks like it got voted to 529° at £22. :\
The price increase wasn't slight - it was ten percent. And that makes it more expensive than other places, so no longer a deal.
Better to expire it than edit it. The ill-informed who don't read every post might now buy this as it's really hot, when they'd be better off going elsewhere...
Not hating the deal. As mentioned on page 1, I voted it hot at yesterday's price. At today's it's cold, though...
