These drives are perfect for the average user simply looking to store a lot of data, whether it be your music files, images or documents (if you have written a few novels!).

No more frustrating lost caps or 'trouser fluff' USB blockage! The simple swivel action protects the USB end of the drive very nicely indeed.

- Nice rubber feel
- Quality swivel action
- Red LED on Light
- Keyring attachable
- Formattable to FAT32 or NTFS
- Write Speed Up To: 17 MB/s
- Read Speed Up To: 26 MB/s

now claimed to have far faster transfer speeds than originally posted
see updated speeds above

seems like a really good deal, but is that a good read and write speed?

google?

good size and price, but speed sucks balls - it would an hour to fill that thing! ideally you want twice that speed.

ive tried but there doesnt seem to be a straight answer, from what ive found these speeds arent great. But this size for that price you gotta sacrifice something.
#5
This was posted a while ago but the price is still good. Lots of people moaned about 7dayshop quality but personally, I use them all the time.

The read and write speeds are pretty average, for the very best you'd need to go for a quality branded one (like a Sandisk or Corsair).
suspended#6
for this price you will not get a fast speed this is a great price anyway imoa
#7
This *will* be horribly slow. And I disagree with the "quality branded" comment; they make slow drives too.
The product is, however, ideal for backups. Just start it before you go to bed.
Hot.

Note this item is out of stock at the moment

I ordered one 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for some idea of when i might get it delivered

The issue really isn't speed, but reliability. Personally, I wouldn't trust this for any of my data -- just as one wouldn't trust an unbranded hard drive.

Actual speed wilk be a lot lower than those 'up to' values.

Using the H2TestW tool, it returned the following results on my PC. Confirmed to be ligit.

Writing speed: 3.69 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

Personally, had it a few weeks and not had any issues.

Whilst 7dayshop aren't bad, a big problem is that they often run out of stock on popular items (such as the ones that get a lot of heat here on HUKD) and you can wait quite a while for it to come back in stock - seems to happen more frequently now than it used to (or maybe I'm just buying more popular items).

ive got a 16gb with the same speeds it works fine even when watching films off it.
#13
Still waiting for mine on back order that I ordered on the 11th jan. happy to wait though as for 32gb this is still the cheapest there is by some way regardless of speed.

any speed usb stick should be fine to watch a film - only needs a really slow transfer speed.

Sound drives these...great for everyday use despite what the spotty fanboys say. Hot

Makes a good replacement for the 16gig one my dog ate....

Though at moment they are out of stock

try reading the thread lol

I got one of these about a month ago, yes it is quite slow, but you get 32gb for 19.99!
Read speeds are quite a bit better than write speeds, I use it for watching 720p films/tv shows on my PS3 and it works perfectly.

Write speed = 6.5MB/s
Read speed = 15MB/s
My download speed = 6.2 MB/s

So it would be quicker for me to redownload than it would be to use this drive to transfer data. COLD.
#21
there cheap cause there slow, if u dont mind that then there a bargain at storage price, ive noticed my sandisk seems slower and slower as of late...if u look at there site they have 2 diff models on some items i.e. 16gb cheapy with slow speed for £14 and then a 16gb for £40 and the read and write rate goes off the wall.
#22
You could argue that for any USB (2.0) flash pens if you had 16+MB broadband. :D

You probably have a 6 Megabit broadband line, not Megabyte hence 6MB not 6Mb

HUGE difference. 8x ;)

i didn't delete your post, mine didnt go out of stock it wast "awaiting stock" im guessing the new stock it faster than before so 7day shop updated the site all i did was update my post so it was same as my link.
#30
the thing is your deal has gone past the 24 hour slot and heat has been added so the new drive which it is a different one wont get noticed, being an editor you could have just left it with your knowledge about this, members will lose out because its a good deal and would have got far more attention if newly posted.

these new speeds real? i know there is a hdtach screen but i hate that program and can get wildly different results with small test changes.
sounds incredibly unlikely at this pricepoint
if indeed true then a new post should have been made rather than editing definitely though im sure shadow1 already has enough deals to display the smutty little outdated avatar anyway.
btw shadow1 - an editor doesn't mean a person has any power it just means they have spammed 'extra helpfu'l info in peoples posts 100 times. see my edit at top.

yeah you said that last time and noone cared then either as basically irrelevant to 99% of the population.
anyway afaik 6.5>6.2 so you are wrong unless you plug in and out of usb port at the speed of a slug.
vote you and your post COLD!

Received mine yesterday and on an Ubuntu Aspire One netbook I get about 17MB/s write speed and about 19MB/s read so going on the specs on the website the write is spot on and the read is down slightly. For me the write speed is far more important and I am well pleased with it.
#33
i got mine too , but i dont need it now (got a 1TB hard drive) so if anyone wants it for £19.99 delivered let me know if not i'll send it back :)

mine is faulty i copy a file over and it just disapears now it never used to do it and its only 1 week old

bump is only useful if people sort by discussed
perhaps there is a way to reset the 'time posted' stamp on a deal then it can reappear at the top again after the month if still ongoing
would save a repost and keep the credit to original person that found.
also all relevant details would be in 1 thread.

mine is broken now ..does anyone know how to return this to 7day shop for exchange ? they are not answering emails ..
#39
If you log on to 7DayShop.com in your account you can make contact, they respond quite quickly. There is also a return form you can make out and print.
The service is good but these 32gb USB drives are not so good. The 32gb drive from 7Dayshop I got only had 27gb of usable memory – 4gb ‘missing’. I now test USB drives and SD cards with H2testw.exe before use. I would suggest everyone test these devices before use to avoid loss of data. My Sandisk and Kingston drives all tested okay – but cost more. DaveB
