The WH Smith packs also come with an accompanying CD-Rom to help you fill in the forms, along with an example already filled in to give you an idea of what they llok like completed.

At the end of the day these packs are for people who aren't fluent with the internet but don't want to pay huge solicitor fees.

Not everyone's as adept at using the internet as you are.

I was actually looking at these packs a few weeks ago in a WH Smith store and they included English and Scottish law forms and rules. At least the divorce and tennancy ones did.

is this the one Heather Mills-McCartney is using for her divorce proceeding? I see she's doing it herself... perhaps she shops at WH Smith?

cant comment on the other forms but i would be surprised if these documents are good value...anyway....

re: the Ltd Company form - dont waste your £10...you dont need this pointless rubbish....all it will tell you is stuff you can get free from the Companies House website

i have my own Ltd company but needed it setup quickly 3 years ago, so went to a recommended internet company who charged alot less than Companies House....but if you arent in a rush then use CH direct and save yourself £10!!

you will still have to pay CH the setup fee anyway, which is now £20 i think...not sure how much same day setup is now

http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/

i used this internet company - incorporation in 1 hour, it costs more than CH's normal service but it was cheaper and faster than CH's fastest service (not sure if they still do the fast service though)...but it certainly isnt £100! - its £45 (for the basic service)

you dont get hard copies for £45, so cant open a bank account

the one from WHSmith should have the forms you cant get from CH website (memorandum, minutes etc.), so you are actually paying £10 + £20 and get everything, imo

eh thats not a like for like comparison? you dont need hard copies to open a business bank a/c

i paid £45 about 3 years ago for the quick service via email took 1 hour......you get the memorandum (they complete it) and other docs too sent to you by email and they send paper copies via snail mail (think i paid £30 extra for these)

the CH £20 service is 8 days and im pretty you dont get the docs either

re: banks - i guess you tried one of the big 4- avoid them like the plague...you should try a decent bank...i use Cater Allen (used to be a Private bank, then owned by Abbey National, and now the Santander group)....

you get free banking and decentish rate of interest (£5K@ 2.1 to £500K @ 4.75% gross).....but you dont need to supply any of the business documentation you suggest, just complete their app form and provide forms of id they request....note that the free banking is limited to a no. of transactions and you have to keep a certain balance to get the internet//free banking....
