Is this based on facts? Posts like these may put people off these bargains.

'minced fish' no thanks! wouldn't give those to my kids. I'm all for fish fingers but not minced fish, that's got to be bad!

probably scrape up what's left on the fishmarket floors, coat it in breadcrumbs and sell it to iceland.

I have to agree. It has to be 100% (or as near as) cod or haddock fillet. Im always a bit wary of anything that is 'minced,' 're-formed' or 'chopped and shaped'.

So long as they taste ok and kids eat them what matters?

I'm sure they still have some nutritional value.

yes my comments are based on fact...i have bought these myself and they were disgusting.
if money is tight, you may feel the need to give these to your children...your decision entirely but i'd give my kids bread & jam over these for sure.

Absolutely, alaskan pollock fish finger fillets are cheap and far more nutritional than these, however cod fish fingers are still the best (and most expensive, as is cod anyway)

Minced white fish...what white fish, doesn't even tell you!

Nothing wrong with these, what was we all fed as kids..... and nothing wrong with me (i hope)

Yeah but I have one thing to say, I'm sure everyone here has had fish and chips or something similar to that in a fast food shop, so how do you guys know it's quality?

Agreed. So many have got on the bandwagon. 5-10 years ago it was all different. May be ignorant bliss but these days if you read enough and believe enough everything that casts a shadow is bad for you.

As far as i was told, the minced fish comes from the "saw dust" created from the fillet fish fingers. They have big frozen blocks of fillets and saw it up to make little fish fingers so i can't see what's wrong with that.

i don't buy fish fingers, when i do i buy the birds eye ones, I was saying for people who will buy from iceland. You may want to provide any links to support your facts.

Voted hot, its cheap food for when money is tight. As another said we ate a LOT worse as kids, its only recently everyone has become up themselves about it. I ate some crispy pancakes last week, so these sure aint gonna be a problem!
