35 South Latitude wines, 3 for £10.00 - Sainsburys (normally £23.97)

£10.00 @ Sainsbury's
These are usually £7.99 each but I was in store today and noticed they had the Cabernet Merlot on 3 for £10. The Chardonnay Semillon is the same. Sounds like a good deal to me - a saving of £13.97 …

Cold from me!

Not a great wine, and the "£7.99" price is a dead giveaway that it's a £4 wine that is destined forever to be offered as a "half price", or "meal with wine for £8" etc.

So a 60p saving a bottle compared with some of their other offers, but IMHO I wouldn't want 3 bottles of this stuff in my cupboard, there are plenty of nice tasting wines on the Sainsbury's shelves for £4-5 a bottle.

I agree. No way this was ever worth paying £7.99 for.

The voting isn't about whether you like the wine it's about the price of this particular wine. If the price is good then vote hot if the price isn't good vote cols...simple.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make ot a cold deal.

I'm not saying I like it or dislike it - I'm saying it wasn't ever worth £7.99 (i.e. majority of places that sell this wine wouldn't normally charge more than £5), and if it was priced at that level it can only be so they can later sell it (i.e. now) and claim its a real bargain.

In general most of these 3 for £10 wine deals are terrible. They used to be decent, but now all you seem to get is awful wines with ridiculously inflated RRP's.

I'd be interested to see how many bottles of this they shift at its RRP.

As an example its not so long ago (12-18 months maybe) the standard price for a bottle of Hardys Crest was around £5. Regularly seen now for £5 reduced from £10.
