Ideal for camping or when out and about- Use it to power all those gadgets that Santa bought you this year,

Wont power your lawnmower - but good enough for gadgets, tvs etc

Less than half price!

350 watt with 500 watt peak power.

Plugs directly into 12V car cigarette lighter socket.

Allows the use of domestic home appliances to be used outside.

Play stations, CD players, portable DVD, drills, tv, lap tops etc.

Also ideal for camping and caravans.

Power on the move

i had a 150w inverter and it would not power a hairdryer (de-ice windows).
this will be ideal...hot.

but surely would be if using to power A laptop, as you would be converting it back to DC?

i used to have one to power my xbox in my car about 6 -7 years ago and it took me AGES to find one good enough to power it, no matter what the stated output was... all you can do is try it, most would only power a mobile phone or laptop charger!

How about a small freezer? Would it power the motor?
#8
like i said, in my experience the stated power outputs were very hit and miss, you can only try it and send it back if it doesnt... i went though 5 before finding one that worked, good luck

Not all that practical for your car, older aux/cig lighter sockets are 30A max, most I've seen lately (and had to replace in hire cars I've had) have been 20A and this only equates to 240W at 12V, with losses you won't be able to drive it any where near the max limit. Please don't think of upping the fuse in your car because the wiring won't be rated for it, you'd have to use the slightly less practical crock clips.

Good price for this rating though as a lot who claim this are only max for short durations, this is continuous 350W.

would i be able to use this from aux/cig lighter socket in car to power a battery charger, to trickle charge my caravan leisure battery, whilst on the move

Yes but through a battery charger. The crock clips are for connecting the device direct to the car battery, NOT the battery you are charging as far as I know.

There are other ways to charge an auxilliary battery which would be better. - Relay off the car battery, or a second connector in the caravan.

Just picked one up and tried it, all it did was emit smoke and blow the fuse in my car! Excellent fun but short lived!

what were you trying to power

picked mine up this morning and works a treat - powered my laptop from the cigar lighter - no problems at all,

it does come with croc clips to connect to the battery for more heavy duty applications

Tested a few Laptop chargers and although they say higher wattage on them (i.e. 100-240V 1.5A) they seem to be generally about 60W average (peak a bit higher), well within the capability of the inverter and fuses.
