not even on a minute and a cold vote, even though hd players are obsolete the choice of films is large and they are very cheap, why cold?
#2
Have some free heat ;)
#3
think of it as 5 hd movies for £35 and its a good deal - the player is free.
#4
Its the fact that finding one of these will be hard. Thats probably why its getting a cold vote. Theres meant to be hd films in my gamestation I've never seen or heard of anyone getting them, though they are meant to be behind the counter.
#5
They had several of these in my local blockbuster/gamestation last week, didn't spot any films though

Which in itself is no reason to vote something cold.
#7
There are other stors to buy the HD films from you know! And, don't forget fleabay and there are hundreds of titles on there now.

Have some heat and the people voting cold, get a life. It's a great deal

Nope I agree. Thats why I haven't voted.

When I asked about HD at my local GameStation (Milton Keynes) a few months back, they said they had cleared out their store with everything going to one of there Northampton branches, so I think the moral is WHATEVER HD they have left over will PROBABLY be at certain/few stores.

#11

#13

sweet deal if u can get it!
#16
Telford store had a fair few in last week. They didn't have 5 films that appealed to me though, beyond corpse bride and one or two others.
Probably worth it if you have a netbook, and need an external DVD drive though?
#17
Bought one from a Carlisle store about a week ago and now i'm regretting it. Selection of films is ok but in all honestly the difference in quality is not worth buying on a dead format. Stick with normal dvd's you can also pick up most of these for a few quid anyway!

What tv have you got out of interest?
#19
TV isn't great in all honesty its just one i use for gaming, pc and work, its the LG 22" M228WDP. Getting the new Sony 32w5500 in a month or so, so should see a big difference then!

#21

Nice one.

I posted this deal about 3 weeks ago. However, despite this, my local store in Ayr has only had one hdd drive in so far, which a staff member snaffled! They do have about 20 movies though, which they're selling at £3.99 each. They did confirm that they'll be doing the 5 for £10 deal when they get the nod from head office.
#23
Good deal and i voted Hot  i have the 360 Hd-dvd player add on and used to find the noise on the 360 very annoying when trying to watch movies.
I have the Toshiba Ep30 player now instead that i got from Play with 2 Hd-dvds for £50 at the time that i use now and the 360 drive is left gathering dust in the bedroom now

In my opinion it is an extremely poor deal for a dead format, this sort of bundle isn't worth more than £20 really.

Hmm I tink that to dip your toe into the world of High def its worth a punt at this price. I beleive transofrmers was reelased on HDDVD, worth a gojust to see that in HD at £35

It may be a dead format but if you can get some good films then its worth it.
I have over 200 hd-dvds and some are worth a lot of money. Certain films are going for anything upto $500. Obviously the ones at hmv and gamestation may not be worth so much now but you will always get your money back plus more.

Freezing cold..

Just out of curiousity I'd be interested to know (as I'm sure others would be as well) what HD-DVD titles are going for $500. It's a dead format. So the titles going for $500 would presumably be unavailable on any other format apart from this? Err...confused! Please let us all know what this/these titles are! Thanks

Lol, well done, have a peanut

Good deal if you can get it, I've wanted one for months and months but every time a deal like this comes up or just for the player I can never get one. Still hot imo.

Really good deal... i was looking at HD drive for my XBOX before i got my PS3..

Theres a decent selection of HD films out there DVDstreet have them from around £3.00... ....£35.00 is a good deal if you want HD with out the expense for the short term..

$500!? what idiot would pay that for a film on a dead format, when you buy a bluray player and a whole host of movies for $500 - a format which (hopefully) will be here for a few years yet
#36
If you own a 360 the the drive is a god send as it also works as dvd drive and you get a remote, Also you can find the films from £2 and the equivalent film on blue ray is about £12 ore more

I have both a 360 and a ps3 and own about five blue rays and 20 hd films, if i bought them on blue ray it whould HAVE cost me £250

are these drives silent or noisy as hell like the stanard 360 drives?

Taking Lives which is very rare sold for $500 a few weeks back.
Tomb Raider 2 , Resisdent Evil, Crank, Reservoir Dogs, Lethal Weapon 2 and The Elephant Man are just a few titles that sell for around £20-£30+ mark.
