Probably last time you'll see it at this price - HOT
#4
Ya this is hot. Rarely do you see mid-ranges 37 inches drop like this. HEAT
#5
Looks a great price for a quality set, any free delivery codes about?
[mod]#6
Great price, thanks harrythedog
#7
is this new or 2nd hand/ refurb?
#8
Great TV for a great price, one of the best 37"s you can get, don't forget though, the screen is reflective. The X series (and greater) have an anti reflective filter

Never the less, still a great set. heat added :)

There have been quite a few TV bargains on here recently. IMO the natural price curve is being accentuated by the mid market sizing up as costs have come down and the manufacturers preparing for the 3D push.
#10
I think shops will have over stocked on big TVs for the world cup, we will be seeing lots more bargains like this

Hot!

Yeah there'll be lots of good deals but this Panny is very highly rated and won't last long at this price.

Ok then, it's not 1080p :-D

I do have my reasons for trying to ensure my panels are all 1080p though :)

But in general I have a bug bear about these non standard pixel aspect ratio sets.
#13
Also Freeview is slowly going over to Freeview HD but you need a Freeview HD tuner, unfortunately this doesn't Freeview HD, hence the price dropping that is being seen now.
Look for TV's with FreeSAT HD, only two HD channels at the moment (BBC and ITV) but more planned.
Heat given for price and Panasonic quality!
Also look at John Lewis, price is slightly more but 5 year warranty included!
#14
The resolution states 1024 x 720, if this is not a typo then it means it's not even HD (1280 x 720).
Chances are that it is a typing error.

Probably not, just saying there's no need to jump in at the moment IMO, unless you need a TV right now.
#16
Here we go... Plasmas are HD folks even at 1024 x 720

... And the picture quality is far superior to LCD especially at this price

Erm yes is it! It has 720 vertical lines so it's HD.

I believe it is correct and it was quite common in Plasma displays until recently (especially those under 42").

It can be classed as HD as the standards require a min of 720p lines of resolution to carry the logo, they don't define a min horizontal resolution (unless something has changed recently).

Personally I'd prefer a set where the pixel aspect ratio matches the panels aspect ratio. Others ofcourse may not be bothered.
#19
these 37 pannys for the longest time have been rated as having one of the best freeview pictures on the market , chances are you would`nt really need the hd tv on one this size.

These plasmas do, it's just that where in an LCD the pixels are square, they're rectangular in a plasma.

By pixel aspect ratio I meant the ratio of horizontal pixels to vertical pixels.

Assuming uniform pixel dimensions and no spaces, when that doesn't match the panels aspect ratio, as you say we get rectangular pixels.

Depends what you will do with the panel over its life, but personally I no longer feel its a compromise worth making.

dont i know it and the only difference is the free delivery!!!

Stonking deal on an excellent piece of kit. The excellent colours and superb SD / HD picture quality of a Panasonic plasma put the washed out alternatives via LCD totally to shame. I bought a top of the range Sony 40 inch 1080p LCD tv which I thought was an 'upgrade' from my 720p Panasonic plasma. I have never regretted buying something so much. The picture on the older Panny was FAR superior and I reinstated a Panny within a couple of weeks. Do yourself a favour and buy this. You'll never regret it.
#28
I dont see any USB capabilities, or do i miss it? :?:?
#29
"HD" or not is meaningless, it's going to be scaling regardless of what it is. At 37" 1024*768 isn't really a problem though, at least at normal viewing distances.

Got it? :-D

lack of USB port and lack of 1080p............

come on people, its 2010, why get anything less than 1080p? especially since this is a 37 inch
#37
even if it's 2010 why worry about 1080p when you can't see the difference unless you're 2" away?

Because some people value a quality 720p TV over an average 1080p one? And rightly so.
