Compare with this one (http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=368548) which reached 140 degrees and has as slightly slower CPU. Cashback on it ends tonight after which prices shoot to £450

Cracking deal from Buyit247.com. It is a refurbished model as far as I know and I am assuming that it comes with one year warranty. Note that this is a corporate desktop which means that, in theory, it has a better finish, more sturdily built.

Think the motherboard has an onboard HDMI interface but googling the part number doesn't get you far.
Why has it got a floppy disk drive!? :w00t:

So that the dinosaurs can still work with their new storage capabilities!:w00t:

Looks good, but onboard graphics would mean playing games would be hard, unless you use OnLive :whistling::whistling::whistling:

You wouldn't be using the on-board graphics (Ge7100/630i) anyway as it comes with a GT220 graphics card.

Edit: but it doe's have HDMI on the mobo.

Performance wise, how would this stack up against the Dell deal thats scorching hot at the moment?

Wouldn't come close in comparison, as the i7 have the step up stuff which self overclocks when using less than 4 cores. This is kept at 2.5GhZ all the time.

Definately good enough for normal stuff, and would run crysis on a pinch, but not as fast as the i7

Both will be a tad impressive but the Dell wins hands down.

Other stuff to consider. New v. refurb, Dell v.Fujitzu, BR v. DVD, 1Tb v. 512Gb, 1Gb v. 512Mb graphics, FDD v. no FDD, 3Gb v. 2Gb memory. Swings and roundabouts but I would stretch the extra £60 If I was in the market and had the money.

 Not exactly comparing a 486 with a pentrium here. Both would be fekin quick but as you say the i7 definatley has it. Sort of a Ferrari with Contis versus a Lambo with Dumlops.

The Dell deal is now expired though

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/629942/dell-vostro-430-core-i7-860-quad-co

What put me off the Dell deal is the HD is only 500gb and no Blu-Ray.

To upgrade the Dell to include a 1TB drive and Blu-ray really pushes up the cost.

Or a Pentrium, while we're on the subject!

Is that an AMD clone?

slow slow slow old technology at yesterdays prices, you would be better with an I5/ i7 proc so that get ddr3 and will be easier to upgrade for future proofing
