The 39/227 is a 39" Full HD (1080p) television with built-in Freeview tuner. It has 1 HDMI connector and a USB port.

Comes with a 5 year guarantee as part of a Tesco offer.

Seemed like a very good price for the screen size, plus it averages 4.6/5 stars across 328 customer reviews.

Use coupon code 'TDX-PKJK' to reduce the price by £20 to £159.

Delivery is free, or you can also click and collect next day for free.

(Tip of the hat to HUKD user 'martroy' who mentioned this in another TV thread I posted)

My elderly dad has the 40" Isis - he is happy with it! He wouldn't have a clue what to do with a Smart TV anyway......his Virgin Media Box plugs in via the single HDMI, switch the TV on and he's sorted!

Have they got another Black Friday? Bleedin Hot! Scorchio!!!!!!!!!

Great find!!!

Ha, ha, this price because they are trying to shift the ISIS brand - can't think why?!

Thanks op

For the extra you end up paying for a so-called "smart TV" you might as well plug in a clever, cheap little stick/box/device and then when it's obsolete in a year or two you can plug in another cleverer, cheaper little stick/box/device and enjoy functionality that TVs with the smarts "baked in" can't offer...

Seems pretty good, just not too sure the name ISIS - which can be related to recent events, may not be the right name to have chosen.. am i wrong?

I'm pretty sure you're spot on with that!

With supply chain timings, these may have been manufactured well before 'ISIS' became a globally notorious word.

good price, but why do manufacturers make full HD TVs without freeview HD?

The speculation was/is that they are selling these TVs at bargain basement cos of the unfortunate name coincidence - I think I read somewhere that they have rebranded themselves, so this will be a case of using-up the old badged stock.

good price, but why do manufacturers make full HD TVs without freeview HD?

Because of the market segment they're aiming at i.e. the cheaper the better - each sophisticated component adds to the manufacturing cost.

Is this tv good for gaming?

One hdmi puts me off, I know you can get splitters but 90 per cent of tech is hdmi now.

Because HD tuners are substantially more expensive which means they couldn't price it at the low-end of the market.

If you want 3 HDMI and don't want the hassle of getting an HDMI switch, this Technika 39" TV (also well reviewed) is £20 more and comes with 3x HDMI

To me it might aswell be 720p, as you cant benefit from BBC1 hd etc.

If you're using it for TV AND other things, you can make use of the Full HD resolution for Blu-ray viewing, console gaming etc. It's not completely wasted even with a standard tuner X)
