Found this in store, been looking for it for a while and haven't seen it this cheap. Please don't vote cold unless you found a better price.

Heat added but be aware that since its release there has been a patch:

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- SEPTEMBER 23, 2010 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today launched a special update for the retro action-adventure 3D Dot Game Heroes for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, including the addition of fifty fan and staff created heroes, the ability to carry over certain swords in New Game+, and adjustments to the completion times for the Dash Circuit mini game. In addition, a bug fix restores previously absent loading art images so they will randomly appear and be viewable in the Loading Art Gallery. Atlus also unveiled big news that fans can now save the kingdom of Dotnia as the lovable "Sackboy" from Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3 system, courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

However whilst this was released in the US by the publisher, "Atlus," the publisher for the EU release, "SouthPeak Games," announced in October 2009 that they had no plans to release the patch for the European version:

...Unfortunately there are currently no plans to release the patch at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience that this might cost to you and everyone in the EU.

Thank you for your support,

The game in its original state still works and by all means enjoyed as this patch is minor.

But to those who feel inclined express your concerns of the lack of such patch on the SouthPeak Games forum.

I managed to get a American (NTSC) version of the game for ~£17 including postage seeing as the game has been out for a while.

Happy gaming all the same,

If you can find a copy in a CEX you can grab this for £12 at the moment. (Some to order online from them also) I've heard stories about CEX's online orders being lost or damaged or whatever, but I haven't had any problem with them so far.

Scar,

I'm one of the few who've commented on the SouthPeak forum and also sent them an email asking about it - still no reply. Atrocious customer service.
I'm actually tempted to sell my EU copy and buy the US one. Did your game update with the patch even though you're in the EU?

good price, ive had the game for ages (its an ex-rental so just the disc but was very, very cheap) but i heard the game is really tough so not sure when ill play it.

as with any company, you never hear someone go online to say how good a website is. but if someone bad happens, then its all over the place.

i still say 99% of cex orders are fine - certainly it is for me (ive probably bought 500+ items from them and had maybe 5 problems) their orders very rarely dont arrive and most of the time arrive perfect condition. the people who go off on cex have used them and had a bad experience, or have really high standard for used goods. i say screw them, it leaves more deals for the smart people.

Keep meaning to go back to this but get frustrated easily. Given that it's made by the same people who did demons souls, it's no surprise it's freakin hard

Hey jbni,

I have yet to receive my copy but I have been told by those who do own imported games that they have successfully downloaded the respected patch(es) on their EU account and/or console.

I assume the patch process doesn't involve the console itself but simply the Title ID (located on the bottom of the game box spine) - with most (all?) PS3 games being region free and with the above assumption to the update process I think (hope) it'll be okay.

If you would like, once I receive my copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes I shall let you know as to whether it successfully updates.

Happy gaming,

Note this game is very old school - check the screen shots / vids before you buy

Not to hijack this thread, but if you want to get the USA version for cheap - £13.60 (and therefore the patch), http://www.planetaxel.com/productDetails/730865001347?upd=1

99 cents postage summer deal on as well.

Nice one Audioboxer.

I am happy to report that my copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes arrived today and upon booting up the game I was prompted to the 1.01 update.

This was on an EU 320GB PS3 Slim and on an EU/UK PSN account.

Happy gaming,
