I actually found this code on Twitter,it was posted by a guy who makes youtube videos and the occasional show called for the BBC called Ashens.

Just read the above post, guess I should have read the small print first...

Good deal. But the Tesco Entertainment deal is still the best when you include Quidco.

My iWoot order with the Valentines day discount code still hasn't been cancelled so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for it to arrive next Friday at £167.

HOT! Can't believe how many deals are coming out for a bit of kit that hasn't been released

What a hugely overpriced bit of kit.
Best way to get a hot deal on this is just not buy it.
Falling sales would soon bring the price down.

Too true but cleverly Nintendo announced the price of £230 and now people think these deals are good value for a 'DS + a 3D gimmick'.

Fools.

.....so you don't want one then?! Funny place to troll if your not interested in the deal right?

code doesnt work anyway
#18
Don't expect Zavvi to honor this unfortunately :(

GUINNESS doesn't work
#20
Chances of launch delivery?
#21
Gonna expire this, looks like the code isn't working anymore.

Chepest I've seen. Don't think it's worth the money though. Was playing one the other day and they're fun but the novelty would soon wear off. They won't have many games for a while either.

I'd buy one if it was cheaper (it's only a handheld after all), there was a decent launch title and future games weren't just the same game I've already brought in the past but with '3D' tacked on.

exactly how i feel. once it has a decent and original roster i will get one, by then it will be alot cheaper. Nintendo seem to be notorious for hyping up a console so much and then not actually making enough for the demand they have created. I'm looking at the wii and balance board which took ages for people to get a hold of.

as for games, I'd be interested in PES3d but i have FIFA on xbox (didnt like this yrs PES) and street fighter 4 3d but i have super street fighter 4 on xbox. other than that it would be the Resident evil game (not mercenaries) which i think isnt out for a while, at least in the UK. so yeah not much reason to rush into buying one for me.

Whilst I agree in part, Nintendo never announced an RRP, it was left for the retailers to decide. Although there was rumours it was costing retailers £180, so people thought £210-£230 was a 'fair' price point.

Obviously no RRP and lots of competition has driven the price down. Personally, I can wait until they are sub £120

code hasnt worked for 30 mins yet this hasnt been expired and has gone from 130 to 280 degrees. think i might post a deal about a 3ds for £120 and see if people vote hot without actually checking the deal out themselves :p

Plus, if you're just going to dismiss the 3DS already as unsuccessful purely because it's a 'DS + gimmick', remember that:

- The DS was a 'GBA + gimmick' with the touchscreen and went on to be the highest selling handheld of all time
- The Wii is a 'Gamecube + gimmick' with motion control, has outsold both the Xbox 360 and PS3 so far this console generation and prompted both other companies to add motion control of their own

Don't underestimate Nintendo.

The NES (in the UK), Virtualboy, Gameboy Color, Gamecube and to a lesser extent the N64 all did badly.

Partly true, but the Virtualboy is the only one you can consider a real outright failure. You can tell Nintendo otherwise, but you'll have to shout loudly because they have walls made of thick, thick cash.

Great selling feature!

For children 6 and under which is the same for anything in 3D. Any children 6 and under being given a £175 handheld console should count themselves lucky anyway.

Lovin all the h8ters in here that just cant afford one so blast it anyway, nintendo are massive and generally one of the more better priced console makers. This is another first and so if you want it from the start you gotta pay for it.

I love the way people defend their purchases with a blanket "you can't afford it, nerr, nerr" when at the end of the day it's actually a fairly cheap piece of kit.

Personally i'm more than happy to wait for the NGP having bought and sold 3 ds's in a 2 year period without racking up more than a few hours combined play. That said, i'm yet to see one in the flesh and i'm a sucker for new gadgets...

Pity, because I have only replaced my original DS with a DS Lite but since then I did buy about 60 DS titles, and those are all original titles mind you!
