Seems to be a price match to Asda.

Just posting in case people want to order from Amazon instead.
I've got a pre-order with Shopto for £200, but I'll probably just get it from Amazon now for peace of mind (in case anything goes wrong as Amazon have super customer service)

How much!!

Heard htis was coming but didn't realise it was so expensive.
#2
You think it's expensive now?
Everybody was charging £220-£230 when pre-orders opened last Thursday :D

Hopefully prices will drop a little further by launch as everyone seems to be trying to outdo each other :)

£199.99 at Shopto.net (if the offer is still on?)
#4
You can get a PS3 for that much, it's ridiculous.

You can't play your PS3 whilst on the toilet ;)

Why do people buy iPhones/iTouch?
Just buy a £10 PAYGO mobile & an MP3 player...

Why do people buy Macs?

Yep, the £199.99 offer from Shopto is still on, & I still have a pre-order with them. I'm just think along the lines of if I have any probs, it's really easy to sort with Amazon. eg I had a dead pixel on my DS lite, & Amazon sent a courier & swapped it for me no questions asked.
I hear Shopto has good customer service, but for the sake of £2 I'll probably stick with my Amazon Pre-order now

But I can play my non 3D DS on there for less than half the price. All the other DS upgrades have been aroudn £30 £40 more so this basically doubling in price caught me out a bit.

Have the graphics improved on this one then or is it still mega drive graphics? What else apart from the 3D does this have to justify the increase?

More expense to give kids bad eyesight!

Same price on ASDA entertainment with code 15OFF3DS. (run by the hut group)
However game gears is the cheapest I have found. £195.99, but not yet put the pre-order up. I too have pre-ordered with shopto amazing customer service and next day delivery is fantastic manged to get a delivery to me in 3 days when amazon took nearly a month.

Also check out very.co.uk for new customers £30 credit or 10% off (still not as cheap as game gears)

Lovely little movie, but "not actual gameplay footage" as they say.

Hot deal.

You might want to add some tags to this. I posted this about half hour ago thinking it hadn't been posted, because I tried searching beforehand to see if it had been posted, but this didn't show up due to no tags.

Hot from me :) Just pre-ordered with Amazon too as I love their customer service. Also have a pre-order with Shop To but that isn't guaranteed as yet.

Ah, but it isn't a movie. It IS actual gameplay footage :)

of course its hard to tell with the small picture and 3D ghosting from the japanese demo, but the video quality looks about on par with the Wii's Resi 4 graphics - certainly nothing as impressive as the promo trailier from your first link! Still, I'd buy one if I had the cash.
#15
Yeah, it's hard to tell from the video as it's displaying in 3D & obviously you can't capture this on 2D video so looks blurry. The demo has been doing the round at shows for a while now & people have been saying the graphics were great. If the demo graphics differed from the promo trailer, I'm sure we would've heard about it by now.

Someone posted on here a few days ago saying they were at the Amsterdam launch & said the 3D effect was brilliant, but you need to see it 1st hand to 'get it'
#16
I assumed the 3D would be gimmicky, until I read the articles below. Now I want one.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-01-25-pro-evolution-soccer-2011-3ds-hands-on

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/285087/features/how-3ds-and-pro-evo-finally-made-me-love-nintendo/

This excerpt says a lot....
"It didn't matter to me that this version of PES was running with technically dated graphics compared to the modern console monsters, the 3D effect gives graphics a quality and a richness that no level of HD visuals can master alone."

Shopto have a very similar returns service, and are a lot more reliable with pre-orders.

What are Shopto like regarding dead pixels though? Some retailers/manufacturers don't consider a dead pixel as a fault.
Amazon will swap no questions asked, as they swapped my DS lite which had a dead pixel. If I'm paying £200 for a 3DS I'm not accepting a unit with even 1 dead pixel.

I think I might keep both my pre-orders open for now so I don't lose my place in the queues, & make a decision which one to keep nearer the launch date.

Remind us all how much the dreadful PSP-Go was at launch......

Why the heck is this being voted so cold, but the ASDA offer I posted offering the same price using a code so hot? oO This is a great alternative deal. Yes, ShopTo are offering it for £199.85 for a limited time, and yes GameGears is offering it for £194.99, but they don't take pre-orders 99% of the time. They only take orders when they have more stock guaranteed, which is very rare and when they do they sell out within a few minutes. This is an awesome alternative deal.

This is not an upgrade like DS lite / DSi / DSi xl.
It's next generation, new form the ground up
Do agree about the price. Nintendo never gave out Europe's rrp. so shops have plucked a figure for themselves £229 and it's already dropped within a week. i'm hoping it drops another £20/40 so we pay the same as the US and Japan

This has now dropped to £197 :)
