The Carphone Warehouse have today announced that they are now selling the 3G iPhone (8GB) for FREE on a two-year o2 contract, priced at £34.26 per month. This tariff gives you 600 any time, any network minutes and 500 text messages per month. You also get free data usage via World WiFi.

They are also giving away the 16GB models for free on the two-year £44.05 per month tariff, which gives you 1200 minutes and 500 texts per month, along with the data.

There are also some free iPhones to be had on the more expensive 18-month contracts.

Isn't it better to go for Pay as you Go from O2 or Carphone Warehouse for £340 and then the Other O2 deal on Simplicity 12 month contract for £10.5... Nearly working out 40£ for 12 months but with more mins, Texts & O2 bold On?
#6
This is old news and do you really want to tie yourself down to a 2 year contract when theres a new iphone due out june/july :?

Depends if you need more minutes, 600 would be plenty for me. Also, some people wouldn't be keen on the initial outlay.

I think the fact that a new iphone is coming out should put people off this. Surely the price will come tumbling down by then, leaving the people locked into this 2 year deal sick as a parrot!

There have been rumours posted around at the end of March, but nothing confirmed until now.

24 month contract, I think i will give it a body swerve.
#11
If you wait until the new iphone comes out you can probably get an 18 month contract for a similar price

World WiFi?

Data and Wi-Fi
Data usage whilst roaming not included. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available at any of the 9,500 Wi-Fi hotspots from our partners The Cloud and BT Openzone. Excessive usage policy applies.

Sorry Ducky but the data over the network isnt worldwide (I know you didnt claim it was) and the so called world wifi is in fact very limited outside this country!

On the fence myself about wether this deal is hot or cold.

I've not checked it out, but I didn't think that the bolt-on offered Wi-Fi access, which I've noticed to be considerably faster than the 3G offerings...

I heard about this offer 2 weeks ago regardless of it being offered from today.

Got anything that proves the new iphone is coming out any time soon?
Other than rumours and hearsay:whistling:

yes, the iphone developers conference is the first week of June, where iphone os 3.0 will be fully unveiled i.e new apps showing what developers have done with the new sdk. The last 2 years there has been either the unveiling of the iphone, then last year the 3g. Also the pattern of deals from o2 etc is the same as last year, clear out the 8gb with deals then clear the 16gb later on.

makes sense for apple to reveal a better camera or maybe even a front camera as they are adding mms.

Also the ipod touch 2nd gen has a more powerful arm processor so the iphone will upgrade to that, probably for the camera.

couple that with a bump in HD capacity its probably best to wait.

i'm judging my opinion on history of apple unveiling products/updates and the way they work, iphone update at the iphone developers conference in June, one product refresh a year, to me that makes sense.

I love the sound of the new iPhone Nano which is rumoured, a smaller screen isn't how to improve the iPhone!

So as requested no actual proof of a new one coming out just romour and hearsay!
Yes OS3 is out but that doesnt mean a new Iphone is imminent - in fact it could be that OS3 with its MMS added capability etc are to make the Iphone keep going in the market place for a bit longer (it is afterall the best selling phone already!)
Not that I dont agree with you but you could wait forever for a newer and better model to come out.

you say 'hearsay' but the fact is a new model gets unveiled every June and it hits retail July. So if history and apple procedure is anything to go by that 'hearsay' is fact. Same as every september apple have an ipod conference, have done for years and same with imacs getting refreshed in jan/feb every year, have done for years, since the first imac!

But I suppose this 'hearsay' is worth getting into a 2 year contract when waiting 2 months will get you the newest iphone. 22 months of owning the older iphone when all your friends have the newer model wont be any fun!

hearsay are rumours of iphone nano which nobody has ever seen or what size hard drive or what camera pixels.

lol but you obviously never used an iphone properly... if you have a mac iPhone is the absolute shizzle...but you are with PC I presume... I don't have an iPhone either but I do understand that there are more features to them then simply being a touch screen fanboi accessory.

I've got an Iphone and other than an amazing GUI they are a 'fanboi accesory':whistling:

lol have you not used it with your mac to control and view EXACTLY what is happening on the whole computer?
#25
You should give it a try, by accessing your Mac remotely with your iPhone you are not confined to your 8 or 16gb, which is a BIG plus. You can see all your pictures/videos and listen to your entire music library and not have to faff around freeing up space...it's quite a feature imo because it works so well with the iPhone's GUI. You must be a PC user or else you are even more Mac noob than me!
