its just the breat - no legs etc - easier to cook

Just the main part of the Turkey with the wings and the thighs detached. Makes it easier to cook and carve but you could do this bit yourself and use the wings/thighs for stock and soup.

It's a turkey with everything removed (legs, wing, etc) except the breast.

Considering the prices for a turkey crown asked by Tesco etc in the weeks leading up to xmas - £14 / £16 - I would pick one of these up now if you have room in the freezer.

Iceland have a stuffed Turkey Crown, 2kg for £12, so Morrisons one at the moment is a bargain
to be had :)
#11
I have a feeling these will go VERY fast.......the animal welfare brigade won't be impressed but price is no guarantee that the birds have been treated any worse than the ones that cost 3 times as much.

Must admit I will be sticking to an M and S one (hopefully half price) but can understand why people go for deals such as this.

We just popped to our Morrisons for this. No signs up but we took our luck with a 4kg turkey marked at £12 (there were no 3kg turkeys or 2kg crowns to be found) and it scanned at £8, so deal is even better than advertised.

Will add photos in a minute.

Thanksgiving? - Take it your American?

nope :) born and bread here, go over regular though and its a fantastic atmosphere. Also, being athiest, even although i like the christmas atmosphere, its similer to thanksgiving so makes everything nicer :) (plus chicken is traditional xmas day grub lol)

I did in Edinburgh at the Gyle, though that said they did not have many left. In the past, Asda and Tesco have matched Morrisons offers, if you take the leaflet with you, so you might beable to get one there? (not sure if they still do this or not but worth an ask if you live near one :)

Oh get a grip of yourself. I am actually trying to get one for a meal over the Xmas period and to make soup with as we will not be at home on Xmas day, not that I really need to justify the purchase to anyone!

A frozen turkey at christmas for when your life really has hit rock bottom.
what will you be doing? going out with the shotgun to shoot one to bring it back? if you have nothing constructive to add, dont bother asking your carer to let you on the internet!

Managed to pick one up today. There is absolutely no advertising of the offer in the store. In fact they are still priced as normal. The deal is actually better than that advertised offer in this thread as its 4kg for a whole bird. - (As per Athia's reply and picture in post 13)

Thanks OP.

I just bought one today!!! on the freezer it said from 3.2kg to 4kg so naturally I bought the 4kg lol. Not much room in my freezer so I will cook it on Friday, slice it and freeze it in portions, and with the carcass I will make a nice turkey stew on Saturday, so its a very well £8 spent.

had mine today, was quite nice :)

I managed to get a crown today, 2.3kg £8 absolute bargain for a british turkey, the ones in Iceland are from Chile( I prefer to buy British, as long as we don't get ripped off!!) The same size Fresh was £17.50 in morrisons and I would have had to freeze it anyway, thanx op great deal.
