We bought a party tent three years ago and used it for a number of full weeks on group camping trips to cook and eat in. It's cheap to purchase, light to transport and easy to set up. The fact that it is light though meant that over the first week of constant use it did not fair too well in all weather conditions. The Velcro pole ties ripped easily in the wind. There are also vent flaps in the ceiling. In wet weather these do let rain in. We had to tie a large tarpauline over the roof with rope to solve this. This also solved th problem of the tent lifting up in the wind. The party tent is easy to fix with duct tape while on site and this worked well. On our return we were able to reattach the ripped Velcro by stitching it back on further up the pole. The party tent served us well and withstood a lot of wear from both weather and people and it only came to an end finally in gale force winds where it blew away. Since then we have invested in a gala marquee which is more substantial and now suits our needs more. The party tent is a good option for short periods of time, good weather and low budgets. If wanting to use it frequently be prepared to make your own repairs.

I bought mine last year and used it for a party in wind and rain. It does let rain in at the sides but no problem just move to the middle. The wind is more of a problem. I have taken it down today as we had a garden party for 30+ this weekend and it served it's purpose well and is still good for next year. I only paid £40 last year at B&Q Still is a good buy and great for family parties.

Not sure that's the right photo, I know it's the one on the website, but they tend to come in sized 3x3 3x6 3x9m, that pic looks like the 3x9m version, which I have. Quality is usable but not the best, I've already made a few repairs to the sides where the white sides attach to the poles via velcro which has ripped/broken.

we hold an annual football tournament and bought one of these two years ago for £100 ... the weather was good - no rain, moderate wind but still we had to bolt all the legs on a wooden base and support the back of the tent as the slight wind gave the marquee an urge to fly !!

We tried to use it this year, and duck-taped all the corners and supports, tied and did pretty much all we could to help it survive. Once put up (after 4 people with great difficulty) we went for a well-earned fag .. came back and it had been blown to pieces by wind.

Even if this was free, i would not buy it !!

maybe if you live in the caribbean though ?

Has anyone seen any good deals on something smaller (about 2m x 3m) and it needs to hard wearing as I want to be able to leave it out all the time to park my bike & sidecar under.
I've seen quite a few "portable garages" on eBay but they are all too large as space is limited.

Going by the comments... don't think would fare well in the Scottish Highlands where I live X)

I'm actually sitting in my 6x3m party tent right now. Got mine last year from homebase for around £50. only used it once last year and put up last week for a party, we're going to leave it up for a few weeks.

We haven't got most of the sides up, what I'd recommend is if you're leaving it up for a while, take the sides down if you can. Also ours is on our decking and is screwed down...

My verdict: for the money it's worth it.

bought one of these last year and have to say its def NOT sturdy and waterproof.
u need to spend at least twice as much to get one that u can re-use.
ours went straight in the bin after the party!!!

How do you get the 'webreg' code to work?

webreg and free delivery no longer working

Advise a friend about this item, they purchased and advised it was pretty crap quality, really flimsy and the poles really bendy and not sturdy at all - they are off to purchase a better one.
