What's the deal?
Richer Sounds is selling a Mico STB235 Freeview box in-store (not online) for just £4.99. Although it's a refurb (meaning it may have slight cosmetic imperfections) it comes with 12 months warranty so will, at the very least, tide you over for a year.
You could opt to pay an extra tenner for its 'supercare' five year warranty but, as generous as that sounds, the prices of these boxes are dropping so rapidly in preparation of the digital switch-over (this refurb box has dropped £15 in price in the last 6 months), that it really isn't worth it.
Check you can receive digital TV first
The official way to check whether you can get the signal is on the official site: Freeview. Yet that test's not fool-proof, so ask nearby neighbours for their experiences or if possible borrow someone's Freeview box to try.
How to get one
It's only available at this price in-store (it has 45 branches nationwide), and stock is limited so it's worth calling your local branch in advance to avoid making a wasted trip.
