It was just posted on the website this afternoon. I was in mine this morning and only spotted the bacon. IIRC the last time they did this it was 'treasure hunt' style :pirate: (you had to go to the various sections for the deals) good marketing or just a cramped, small store.. could have be either! :whistling:

ps. just looked back & it ends on sunday

Forgot to mention they still had the 1L Tropicana on for 83p (half price) this morning, for those who feel like a change from the usual pasturised pap.

Is the Heinz Baked Beans 415g or 4 x 415g?

I mean, 50p for 1 tin is so-so right? You can get 4 tins for £1 at ASDA right?

I assume its a 4 pack?

64p per 415g can in Sainsbury's, Asda, Tesco, Waitrose

Ummm wheres the bleedin Black pudding and crispy hash browns? :(
#21
Not much of a bargain when you look at the size of the packs....4 eggs 50p,15 for £1.49 Asda,50p for a tin of Heinz beans.....4 pk in Asda for £1,tomatoes are tasteless, bacon full of water......
#22
I find that most bacon apart from Drycure is full of water.

Same with sausages you have to check how much meat is in them.

And some supermarket eggs are dreadful nothing like a real farm fresh egg.

I know these are cheap deals but if the food is rubbish then is it a false economy to buy ?

My mother used to say better to pay £2 for something that you can eat rather than a £1 for something that you have to throw in the bucket.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO not buying this as I will be told to get out of bed at ridiculous O'Clock to cook it ...then I won't even get any :(

They must have made the egg 4 pack just for this deal, i've never seen 4 pack eggs anywhere.
If you're going to get this just buy the Branston beans with it as they are only 30p at the moment!
#26
Actually, thinking about it 4 pack of eggs for 50p isn't a great deal is it?? As someone pointed out earlier thats expensive, plus you cant do much with 4 eggs!

50p for 1 tin...big deal! max 2 tins per customer?? Fooling the gullible here when you can get a 4 pack for a quid elsewhere.

Think I got lucky then. ASDA were doing 4 x Heinz tins at £1 a few days ago. I had switched to the Branstone ones at 3 for £1 when I saw the normal price of £2.16 for a pack of 4. The price had been getting expensive so I picked up 3 x 4 tins when I saw the 4 packs of Heinz at £1.

I assume the offer is over now but glad I got a few tins - was seriously considering not eating beans any more as they were becoming more of a luxury item!

With bacon, of the ones that are mass produced, the Danish branded ones I think are the best and out of all the supermarkets, possibly Sainsbury's own brand is the best.

Waterwise, just either grill them, use a George Foreman or deep fry them first. Or even (healthy option) blanch them first - gets rid of some fat and all the white stuff and excess salt. Then fry them.

There have been programs on TV with various celebrety chefs doing taste tests and most of them are 50/50 between being able to guess the farm version. Originally, they thought it was because people can't tell the difference between well grown food and mass produced food, but now its thought that it is because people are so used to the taste of mass produced food, that that is the norm! Ha Ha! :)
