Is a seatbelt cutter useful? If I can't manage to find my seatbelt clip in a dark mangle, I'm hardly going to find this, locate it's cutting bit and get it cutting through a seatbelt?

Good point, but may be handy if you need to get someone else out of a car.

or just go to the local petrol station when your filling up and use 20p?

Yeah I tried that last week - FIFTY pence at shell! Plus gauge at garage certainly wrong - illegal.

But what happens in a smash and your release mech is toast and it won't release you ? Or you've broken your hand or arm on the release side and you're so mangled you can;'t get to it with your other arm. Or even for someone else to cut you out.

Lots better to have your own gauge imo, no queing, no defective gear, no paying and pressures taken when cold (before you set off).
