This is a great deal as it you can buy a total of a litre of decent wine (4 x 250ml bottles) such as Blossom Hill or Gallo for a fiver. Normally the small bottles cost about £2.00 each so this is quite a saving, it also includes sparkiling wine.

Some of the bottles of wine on offer are:

ASDA Extra Special oak aged burgundy 25CL
ASDA Extra Special Languedoc rose 25CL
ASDA Extra Special Mas Miralda Vintage Cava 2005 20CL
ASDA Extra Special primitivo 25CL
Black Tower - Riesling 25 CL
Black Tower - Rose 25 CL
Blossom Hill - Cabernet sauvignon 25CL
Blossom Hill - Grenache 25CL
Blossom Hill - Pinot grigio chardonnay 25CL
Canaletto - Pinot grigio 25CL
E & J Gallo - Cabernet sauvignon 25CL
E & J Gallo - Chardonnay 25CL
E & J Gallo - White grenache - rose 25CL
French Connection - Special reserve chardonnay
French Connection - Special reserve merlot 25CL
JP Chenet - Cabernet Syrah 25CL
JP Chenet - Colombard Chardonnay 25CL
Les Jamelles - Cinsault rose 25CL
Mateus Rose 25CL
Weight Watchers - Rose 75CL

For instance, a full 750 ml bottle of the delicious E & J Gallo White Grenache is £5.40 in Asda. For £5.00 you can have four bottles of the 250ml version for 40p less and you gain an extra 250ml!

The French Connection Special Reserve Chardonnay and Merlot are £7.02 per standard 750ml bottle in Asda, so £5.00 for a litres worth in small bottles is quite a good deal.

The smaller bottles are good as you you can have a variety of tipples during the evening and are also handy to have when you may not want to consume a whole bottle of wine or just want a glass or two after work. According to the Asda website the offer runs until 01.01.10, although I don't know if this is accurate..

I've found these very handy in the past.
Keep a couple of little bottles of sweet and sticky white/rose in the fridge and if the opening of a decent bottle of wine for an evening in with a girlfriend is acompanied by "Oh, it's a bit to dry for me", you have a handy backup without her getting the impresion that you're pressuring her into drinking a whole bottle.

i usually buy thier 1.5 litre bottle of seven hills for £5.29, which is 2 bottles, and i prefer it to the dearer stuff actually, paid £8 for one while back and it was disguisting.

ive seen these little bottles tho and they are great for tasters to see if you like a certain wine or not before buying a bigger bottle

This can be said for any wine though - Ive spent £50 on a bottle of Champagne and thought it was downright awful, yet i have picked up a 1 euro bottle of wine from France and loved it.

But these bottles are so common having screw tops and all that!

Do they do a 1787 Chateau Lafite??

I'll send the butler down to this 'ASDA' place, is there one in Mayfair???
