4 pack AA NiMH 2300mAh for £1.99 @ Aldi

ra2000ra2000

Simply as the title says - 4 pack of rechargable NiMH AA batteries for £1.99 .... best thing is they are 2300 mAh. They are under a brand name ACTIV ENERGY. I've always been very happy with electrical items bought from Aldi and expect equal quality from these too.

Next nearest I could find was a 4 pack NiMH 2000mAh at Maplin for £4.99.

i've bought loads of these for my sons toys, and also my camera flash, they are really good, especially in the flash, i took about 800 pictures using 4 in nikon flash gun and they last throughout (even though i had spares).

Can be tested with a multimeter to see what it actually is.

How exactly can you test the capacity with a multimeter?

regardless of if you believe or not, i've been using these for over 18 months, and they they job nicely. especially when toys are left on and the batteries get flat.

like i said, i use them in some intensive equipment and they last for me, in fact, at a friends wedding the official photographer's more expensive quick charge batteries and charger had to be used cos he ran out, and i lent him my backup spares, while i carried on taking pictures.

I'm not saying they don't work nicely; what I'm saying is that the capacity figure should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Not difficult if you have a brain. Simply wire a small bulb in series with the multimeter set to amps. note the current, time how long they last :whistling:

Your brain is better than mine then, to be able to monitor the changing current as the voltage drops as the battery discharges. Or maybe mine has better things to do.

Who cares anyway, if people review them as good and they're so cheap, worth a punt if you ask me.

Oh dear - you really shouldn't make condescending statements like that unless you are very sure of your facts! :-D

I agree - user reviews are far more important than dodgy manufacture-inflated capacity figures.

Only AAAs and Cs left at the Selly Oak Aldi, good price though; nice find.

Been getting these for ages at this price every time we go in to get some shopping we pick up a pack they work a treat. We use them in all the console controllers they last an age.

Just out of interest, is this a special offer or are they always this price? Just wondering, in case I don't get chance to go to an Aldi in the next few days.

No, they have non-food specials like Lidl and Netto, so they will run out.

I have been buying them from aldi since well before xmas so i am sure they will still be there in a few days
Also worth noting that they have aaa C and D batteries there for the same price. The C and D are packs of 2. Also with a good mah rating.

Also have bought these at this price in the past ... was at least 3-4 weeks back i think.

Regardless, they do perform very well, as good as the ones I've got from 7day and instore at other places ... they're well worth the money these.
If you're worried that the mha might be false then don't buy 'em ... more for us lot when we need 'em hehe

Price seems good. Lidl have a similar deal from Feb 12th but they are £2.92.
