can be found cheaper on ebay, and, may invalidate your insurance. Even though its a "safety device", if you contact your insurance company, they may want to increase your premium.

oooops...the site blocked my ebay link

you can probably find others if you want to search

....I'd be more concerned about the implications on my insurance...

oh yes...just remembered...as on the previous time this was posted....try it all out by taping the sensors to your bumper first to make sure it works...bad job if it doesnt and you cant get a replacement ...especially now you've drilled 4 holes in your bumper....lol

can you provide any links that give evidence that fitting parking sensors can invalidate your insurance / raise insurance premiums?

i think torby says it MAY invalidate ur insurance - if you are in a major crash and u have said ur car hasnt been modified and yet you have drilled into the bumpers perhaps weakening their integrity, do you think the insurance company are going to pay the £100,000 claim or try to get out of it.

I suspect that the insurance company would have to prove that having parking sensors fitted would somehow increase their risk. Okay, fitting super-duper shiny alloy wheels may increase its desirability to your average chav car thief, but I doubt anyone could argue that parking sensors would increase risk in any way.

You can get colour codes ones on Ebay BTW

unfortunately, its not really to do with "risk"....granted, parking sensors don't mean your car is more likely to be stolen...its to do with how different Ins companies view the term "modified"...Admiral is one co that I believe can be sticky about parking sensors....in fact some (believe it or not) only cover the base vehical, and if you have factory fitted optional extras...they have to be informed....stupid I think...but a phone call is all you need to make....

seeeemples....phone your own insurance company now...tell them you're thinking of installing an "aftermarket" kit of parking sensors...ask will it increase your insurance policy premium...answer should be a seeeemples "yes" or "no"... if they don't increase it...your quids in...but don't be surprised if they want to charge more for a "modified" vehicle....if they do, its pretty sure if you don't tell them...when an assessor looks at your car...its a great excuse that the ins co haven't been notified ....go on ...give them a ring....
