Four pints of milk at Aldi now reduced to £1 from the already cheap £1.09.

Tesco,Asda,Morrisons all at £1.53, so more than 30% cheaper.

Tastes good too.

Iceland used to lead the way but I think they have increased so good to get a £1 deal back - however Tesco had 2 for £2 yesterday but were out of stock

Get mine from Farmfoods, 2 for £1.50 (_;)

I'm not sure it is such a good deal for the farmers. What are the quality and animal welfare standards like?

I pay 62p a pint from Dairy Crest (www.milkandmore.co.uk). It is delivered to my door in glass bottles and tastes so much better, so I'm happy to pay a decent price.

Sorry but theres no way on earth I could justify paying 62p a pint, your paying £4.96 for 8 pints oO I`m paying £1.50, and your name is markbargain lol

From the Defra Website

In August 2010 the UK average farm gate price of milk (excluding bonuses) was 24.68 pence per litre, 1.42 pence per litre higher than in August 2009

So the supermarkets will buy 4 pints for around 50p with some additional overheads for bottling, transport etc, maybe 5-10p a litre. This is pretty much the same for all of them so the difference in price is due to how big the mark up is. The price paid to the farmer is only a third of what Tesco eventually charges.

Today Tesco posted half year profits of £ 1.6bn so I suspect some of their margins are quite generous.

Cost of fuel to get to Aldi's 3 quid, not so cheap now!

Just got back from Asda. They have 2 for £2 on 4 pint (2.27 litre) at present.
Think it is the same at Tesco.

Farmfoods do 2 for £1.50
cold

Poundland are always 4 pints for a pound and they do Whole, Semi, 1% and Skimmed.

Poundland is 2 litres, same as Farmfoods. 4 pints is 2.272 litres so the cheapest deal, Farmfoods, works out at 85p for 4 pints. Poundland works out at £1.13.

No good crying over spilt milk, lol.

Can't believe that the Tesco £2 for 2 x 4 pints is 200 degrees and this isn't even 50! Same stuff just you only need to buy one, not two.
