These crop up from time to time and are almost always USB 1.1 rather than 2.0 but if you're using it for connecting rather than data transfer, then it's perfect.

I got my wife one of these & her Vista Dell portable didn't like it. Having said that the reason that I got it was that her machine didn't like my hub either! My old machine was quite happy with either.

Still for £1 have a go.

Yes I bought one a while ago so dont know if same make - noticed it was USB 1.1 when I got home, threw the thing away as it is oh so slow. If this is USB 2.0 (will be printed on packaging somewhere) then its a good deal.

Mine snapped when I pulled it out of my PC, however worked fine up until then and worth a Quid of anyones money (especially someone elses).

Unless it is used for connecting as Leepea mentioned. For data transfer then yes, it is not brilliant.

not worth the pound i got a few and none of them worked on any machines, they detected them ok but god were they a pain.

Plus im not gonna embarrass myself by taking them back like a *****

Why would you use it for connecting if you didn't plan to transfer data??:?

i doubt poundland have got a customer services section, or phone service, as they dont expect people to bring back £1 worth of **** back and complain...............

Mouse / keyboard / game pads etc. don't require USB 2.0 so if you need to free up your 2.0 ports for data transfer from your digital camera / mp3 player / phone then this is a good buy.

Not completely useless if you've got an old pc like someone else pointed out...even if USB1.1 is about twenty times slower than USB 2.0 :p

i hope the situation in your avatar is kosher....

Picked up one of these yesterday. Only USB 1.1 rather than USB2, but ideal to connect stuff that doesnt require fast data transfer.

Rep added.
