4 x 1000mAh AAA batteries and charger for LESS than the batteries alone - or 16 batteries and 4 chargers for £13.46 delivered with voucher. £3.99
You can get 4 x 1000mAh rechargeable batteries - AND a USB charger (takes 4x AA or 4xAAA) for less than the price of the batteries alone (which cost £4.99 as the lowest price on Google Products - compared to £3.99).
Play.com are selling the same battery and charger set for £6.99 - so 57% of that price here.
Why not get four sets to avoid paying postage and use your match voucher to drop it to £13.46 for 16 batteries and four chargers (enough to encourage a friend to start using them perhaps, with one of your extra chargers?)
Or handy on its own to get you over the fifteen quid free postage threshold.
The £13.46 price with delivery gets you enough AAA batteries to last the next five years and compares well to the 'best price on google' of twenty quid excluding delivery (from Misco).

However - they would work in the many USB car charger sockets that have appeared recently - or if you go camping - you can get a quick boost in an internet cafe.
Good post
dont like those USB chargers though

Doh!!!

What are you talking about that is a excellent rating for AAA batteries.
Bingo. Someone got me the charger set for Xmas (which needs AAAs) but I haven't got batteries yet as I already had AAs which I just used directly in the wiimote. Now I can use the charging stand AND these make a great filler for my £11.99 Classic Controller.
So would 2 of these last longer in the same device (Wiimote?) than 2 1000mAh AAs? Or is it just the fact that it's harder to find AAAs with as much charge?
I concur...there are a lot of misinformed spammers about....they really ought to check their facts before spouting off.
1000mAH is *EXCELLENT* for AAA batteries (note the 3 AAAs)
What is 'Prime'?
Good post
Sorry - the 'match' vouchers are the Amazon vouchers that were given out here - for 250p
1000mAh is currently the highest rating from any mainstream AAA battery manufacturer. Its triple A not AA/mignon that you are thinking about which currently has a max rating of about 2800mAh from a mainstream manufacturer (although you will find ones on Ebay probably claiming you can replace your car battery with them :whistling: ).
I have these batteries already - and use them in my...
bike lights
torch
PMR radios
They are high capacity but the type that will lose a lot of charge in a month if not used. So they are best for high drainage situations, where the power will be drained by high usage demand rather than time,
So they are NOT useful for things like...
clocks
calculators
vibrating razors
Braun 'humming birds'
...basically things where they would be drained by time rather than by usage.
For this type of thing you would be far better using 'eneloop'. 'ready charged', 'hybrio' types, which are rechargeable - but are charged when you buy them. This type can keep about 70% of its charge if unused for a year.
The best deal I found on this type is posted here.

If you want to use batteries for bikelights for a bike you dont use often, or with very low powered lights - then this is the best type to use.
