Maybe that's the effect they were going for! :D

I bought these this morning just because they were half price, and are surprisingly very nice!

True - but blood red would have been a better colour for Halloween :)

need more than a couple of doughnuts for obesity and diabetes. Assuming you've put this on all the tins of chocs deals too.

Don't give them ideas. ;)

Actually I've noticed they've already made very similar comments on several "junk food" deals today so your assumption seems to be pretty accurate. :D

He has a point though it's always the unhealthy sugary food that is so cheap. People with not much money don't have a choice but to buy this kind of stuff

Alcohol comes with warning on the packing and is not for children. Liquors and wine do not have expiry date and can be stocked. Sugar and bad carbs do not come with any warning and are served to everyone including children.

Morrisons always sell 5 jam doughnuts for 50p. Nice to have now and again.

A glass of wine is more harmful that a donut. At least sugar isn't neurotoxic.

I wasn't going to vote either way on this, but your comment has made me press the hot button in the hope more people see it.

Just find the number of people suffering from obesity and diabetes in this country. Half the country is already there or about to. I have to agree alcohol is not healthy either but can be managed if you are careful.

If you expect us to trust that you can manage your intake of hard spirits, how about treating everyone else here as adults and letting them make their own decisions about what they eat?

Well, If you can manage what you eat, nothing better than that. But most comments I see here are in praise of junk food without realising the dangers it comes with. Junk food comes with its own addiction and it carries no warning until you get metabolic syndrome, that is obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure and more bad consequences later on

Come on now. :D Why do you need a warning label on a chocolate bar, a cheeseburger, bacon, custard creams etc? Are you or do you think people are unaware that excessive consumption of high fat/salt/sugar/calorie foods such as doughnuts isn't recommended? A doughnut isn't harmful and everyone knows foods like that are to be enjoyed as a treat not as 1 of your 5 a day or with every meal. We are warned that not eating a healthy balanced diet can increase the risk of many conditions and diseases.

I can imagine an extreme version, a graphic picture and warning message on a pack of plain packaged digestives hidden out of sight behind the counter available only to over-18s. :D

You accept alcohol is fine in moderation and "can be managed" so I can't understand why this idea seems lost on you when it comes to "junk food".

Not a single one of those problems and consequences are exclusive to "junk foods" though. Practically all food and drink can cause obesity and thus diabetes, high blood pressure etc when consumed to excess. You can eat a lot of meat for example which is linked to an increase risk of cancer yet there is no warning. There is no real harm in eating a slice of cake, a chocolate bar, a cheeseburger or having a glass of beer and people know they shouldn't have too much of any of those. :)

All that indicates is how stupid drinkers are, they need it spelling out to them that they shouldn't drink too much.
