I'm not entirely convinced of the independence of Which?, there's been a few products they slate that turn out to be a really good thing, and a few recommendations that are rubbish. Some of their headline investigations (notably solar) start with assumptions about the technology that are simply untrue.
The worst case of this was my mother's ironing board, bought in the early 1960s, Which? suggested it was poor quality and wouldn't last a year of normal ironing, I expect to inherit this ironing board sometime in the next 20 or so years ;-)
