Now if I could find any reviews about this, it could be interesting, but not sure I want to take the risk

probably better spend alittle more and get a known make.
#3
still voted hot for the effort.

Very cheap :)

Not as good as the recent Sainsbury's 40" e-motion offer (£299 less £12 cashback & nectar points), but as that offer has long since expired, I guess this gets a hot vote.

Though without seeing what the Freeview decoding quality is like I wouldn't buy it myself.

I don't need one but for the price I certainly would take the risk if £274.99 was al I had to spend on a largish telly. Good deal OP, a bit poor for the big spenders who don't need to come here but evidently do!

£329.99 according to your link?

actually for 349.99 you can get a sony 37" from richer sounds (it was 329.99 last week)

Has that been posted as a deal?

Seems pretty good value; cashback will be just shy of £40, making it a very appealing £290.
Any horror story reviews?

Use the code provided for 20% off. Price stated includes £11 delivery charge.

I know the TV snobs will probably vote this cold and they have every right to, but I feel this is a potentially good deal for those on a tight budget and is potentially a bargain.

Is it any wonder that people who spend a little
sometimes end up paying a lot.
Why not buy a slightly smaller size from a known
company.
DGM's outlet is on home shopping TV channels
and so they ended up at TJ Hughes when unsold.
I would avoid like the plague, I just cannot understand
why people would take such a risk.

Good price for this one but also at bestbuy you can get toshiba for £350 (15% cashback from quidco making it £297.5....)http://www.bestbuy.co.uk/product/1000150071/toshiba-40bv700b-40-lcd-full-hd-1080p-tv.aspx

It makes me laugh when people post a nice cheap item and get lots of comments saying Oh for £50 more you can get this better one! some people haven't got £50 or £xx amount extra spare, and if you think the tv your blabbing about is a good/better deal then post it in your own thead!

I believe it is £313 after cashback, not £297. (cashback is only paid on the pre-VAT price)

Regarding the OPs deal, don't forget quidco - another 3%!

What I LIKE about everyone posting other offers on here is then we have a good CHOICE!!

I am looking for and actually SAVING for a new tv to replace my 20 inch screen one - No taking the p*ss!

As someone said not everyone can afford top brands at top prices but as long as it functions well and is from a very reputable dealer then why not???

Covered by a guarantee which you could always extend at some point in the year if wanted

Anyway - Can't wait to get my new TV at SOME point and IF I had the money I definitely would have gone for the TJ Hughes one ... But saying that - Prob best to WAIT as my nephew WORKS in Best Buy so could use his staff discount! :D

I hade various digimate products over the last 10 years

All i have to say is:

Cheap, well built, It will not blow your socks but will do the job nicely :)

LOL, some people know nothing. This TV is fine. sammy panel in it too and warrenty is the same. bargain i think, do some reasearch before slagging stuff off. go for it guys

I bought this TV last time it was up for £300

Picture is excellent. The blacks seem really 'black', which is nice.

Two complaints:

1. You need an arial to tune it on first use or it will bring up an error message every time. I intended to use it as a monitor only and neither Digimate or I could figure out why it did this initially.

2. Sometimes it doesn't turn on. Needs to be unplugged and plugged back in for a few seconds. This may be to do with the 'split kettle lead' I'm using to power it and my PC in one. I can't be bothered moving it.

In terms of picture though, the TV is great,

hey i wasnt being sarcastic, that was cheap, but this is even cheaper - even after the vat cashback!!

Just back to everybody posting the bestbuy deals. Have they sorted the issues with people getting the cashback? Has anybody got cashback?

To the deal. Seems your getting a 40" TV for the price of a 32" and having used a Digimate monitor before and while it did look built to a price it performed better than I was expecting. So a hot deal without having to worry if I get cashback or not.
#30
voted hot but im not really sure what tv to buy yet i m hoping to buy 3D one but still not sure what would i do!:|

I'm just wondering how people can be well off enough to have a giant living room (40" would swamp an average size room imho) and be scrimping on a TV... A good set could last 5 years easily, don't really see this one cutting it in 2016.

Bought cheap screens on numerous occasions, including a digimate for my mum and dad about 3 years ago which is still going strong. Within 18 months both of my Samsungs needed engineer visits, which was sorted by the manufacturer direct within 48 hours, and that, I guess, is what you pay the extra for.

Bit of a lottery but this is a good deal. Voted hot.

I got one of these non branded onces for my gran at christmas, was bloody suprised how well blu rays played.

Don't knock these off unless you checked it out yourself.

Nah, that wouldn't be fair on Amazon and the VAT cashback is already going through, that was a seriously hot deal but this is £65 cheaper and £125 cheaper for those that didn't get in for the VAT back. It's seriously cheap for a 40" LCD tv with full HD, ok its not an internet tv but for those who want a tele and want to save on the pounds, this is an excellent deal.

Agree with Ssouthall6 that this might outlast branded names. So if you just want a decent but cheap tele and your not fussed with the latest technology or famous badge on the front, this is a great deal. If I didnt get the VAT back then maybe I would have gone for this. ;-)

Makes me laugh when I see posts like this.

At the end of the day, if someone is that hard up they can't find another £50 then you've got to ask if they should really be buying a 40" tv in the first place.

These tvs are often false economy.

Do you know something specific about this TV that means it's a 'false economy' or not a bargain?
Why find an extra £50 rather than buy this??
