forgot to mention, the only problem i had with it is that they didnt supply the right power cable, which is just a kettle lead, easily available and cheap, oh and the remote is a bit on the big side, but hey, so is the tv :giggle:

does it come with wall brackets/stand. is it wall mountable?

ty deapseadiver its my first post and im still getting to grips with the site

it comes with stand already attatched, and is also wall mountable although you need to buy the bracket, which at the time i was gonna buy but decided against it, the cheapest i found was £20 but that was on offer and was not specifically for this tv but said it would fit any from 36" to 52".

Shame it does not do 1080p
#8
Still for this price its very good for the money as 1080p tv's still cost around £750 plus

1080p is pointless on a tv this size.

Oh here we go with the 1080p or not to p debate again:whistling:

On a side note, I have found Humax support to be very good. I had a problem with my old Humax PVR, and I was pleasantly suprised with their service.

For most people yes, but if you're willing to sit 6 feet away from a 's"]40" it's well worth having.
#13
I wish people would stop saying this. If you want to run a media centre through this, or play a 360 game closer than 10' away from the screen, you can notice and appreciate the extra pixels. Some of us are on the lookout for good 1080 screens for these reasons and to constantly be told that we're somehow loopy for wanting better pixel resolution is a tad irritating

Why is everyone so obsessed with 1080p, most people wouldnt notice any difference between it and 720p especially on this set.

For the likes of connecting up to a computer it would make a significant difference (I'm typing this on a 19" screen with a resolution beyond 1080p), I'd gladly pay a few hundred pounds extra on a screen ths size for an upgrade that gives you decent 40" pc monitor in your front room.
If all you want is to watch tv in a big room then fine you don't need it but there are plenty of uses that do.
