These are great, used a few times now for luggage and it's been pretty accurate.
#6
Are you meant to hold it with the small ring on the top? Also, is the hook the type that can slip off?
#7
I have one of these for the past three years, used it to move my life to india, mauritus and back to the UK including in between flights, as well as my parents used for here there and everywhere, it has had no problem with 32+ kg bags, and it has been faultless. you will either need a sturdy pole or two people on any thing above 20kg depending on your upper body strength.

found the best option is to rest a pole on a sturdy surface I.e the seat of a chair with the loop through it and hold to the suit case one person lift the other read.

best part of this is that it is super light so easy to take with you and quite accurate

Why not use a normal bathroom scales? Unless the only purpose is to take them with you abroad

Bathroom scales being used to weigh a large hold suitcase may not work too well.

I would have thought this is for regular travellers or business people looking for a portable solution to weighing baggage.

That said agree with some comments that it looks quite flimsy, would be really surprised if this stayed intact with 40kg dangling from it.

It really isnt flimsy, mind you i dont know any airline these days that accept 40kg. I think 30kg is the max these days

How big is that top ring? Will a thick broomstick/brush go through it
#25
Don't want to be lifting 30kg with just index finger!!

How big is that top ring? Will a thick broomstick/brush go through it

What i do is pop a cable tie on the handle of the case to use as leverage, then i hold the actual scale in two hands to lift. The little ring at the top would not take a broomstick and ive never really used that before, you only lift the case for about 2 seconds, it gives you theweight very fast
#27
find you mass on bathroom scales then with bag and yourself subtract diff .that is what I do anyways and it is accurate
#28
This is something I have (although a manual version) and always put IN my case for when I am about to come back home, can weigh my case to make sure it is below the 50lbs mark. Bathroom scales can be good for when you're at home but if you're abroad it's not really ideal

this is cheaper without P+P

different colour as well (choose the other seller option, which they ship from UK)

i'll personally pick amazon as i still have some voucher credits to use.

99p down the local pound store for a non-digital one. Better as it doesn't need batteries to work which this one does.

Haha, you do realise, you weigh yourself, then pick up the large hold suitcase, weigh yourself CARRYING the suitcase and work out the difference?! What's not to work too well?

you do not weigh yourself you find your mass.Weight is a force measured in Newtons N, mass m the amount of a substance is measured in Kg

Seller put them up now so best grab at amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001OKQ34C/?tag=ho01f-21

Just be aware that the amazon one's are dispatched from either Hong Kong and/or China so don't expect them any time soon if you need them quickly. Have ordered one myself as no going away for a few months.

Also there's manual ones for sale at that online pound shop, plus free delivery if you register... may be subject to minimum spend. :/
