Apply for the Virgin credit card before 31st Jan & make a purchase (anything by the looks of it) & get £40 off your Virgin media bill.

Great deal but be strict with yourself and get rid of the card when you're done fleecing them.
#2
does this apply with existing customers? probably not but thought it was worth a try.

Well no unless you cancel and re-apply

Just had a look as I'm an existing Virgin Customer and all it says is apply for a card and use within 90 days, I might pay my Virgin bill with it ha ha.
Voted hot for me.

Voted hot by me too, had V+ box installed to the half price sum of £75 early December...with applying for this, will knock it down to £35...certainly will take the dent out of that bill this time of year for sure! Thanks for the heads up on this OP.

does it matter if u make a purchase online/over phone or do u need to make the transaction in a shop to qualify for the £40 credit?
#9
says it applies to existing cable customers
#10
You need to quote your account number, so it's for existing customers

I can't see any hidden charges in the card's T&C's

Gotta be an easy £40, why not?

HOT !

This card is actually issued by MBNA.

I applied for a Virgin card before and was was kb'd due to the fact that I already have an existing (different) card issued by MBNA.
Perhaps it's not worth applying for the card and a having a pointless credit search against your name - if the same applies to you :?
#12
Voted hot, rep added and cheers for £40 off my next virginmedia bill

i have another nbna card but still nanaged to get this virgin card!

maybe u have a low credit rating?

Looks a good deal but is for cable customers only. I did have a look, but I only have broadband with Virgin, so wouldn't be eligible.

Don't think so? I seem to remember doing it over the phone and being told it was coz of the other card? Had plenty of other BTs after that one.

Good deal i already have mbna card and been accepted, voted hot:whistling::thumbsup:

Just signed up. Great start to the new year. Thanks:thumbsup:

Great 'Congratulations you are in' - call this number to arrange credit limit, go to get phone and screen updates automatically no phone number :x
Check contact us and yes there is a number to check application, ring it 'sorry closed for Christmas period' - I thought this was the New Year.
Just not professional, but if they credit £40 into my a/c I am sure I can live with it.

Just remember that after the 3 months of 0% for new purchases you will be charge interest (15.9%) on what you have used it for.

If it was me I would go through the self service till at Asda or Tescos and buy something for £1, then cut the card up.
#21
Goldfish Credit Card is offering a massive £41 cashback on Quidco!
#22
Cheers OP

Easy money :-)
#23
What is the 0800 number you ring at the end of the online application? I missed it
Thanks

Also remember you can use the virgin card to get 10% off at zavvi/virgin megastore - if you buy instore you can pay any way you like, but if you buy online you have to use the card to get the 10%

Applied. Looking forward to the £40 credit on my VM bill.
#30
I applied, not expecting to get accepted as whilst I have a good credit rating am a bit of a credit card tart, have 2 mbna cards already (got sony one recently to get a free mp3 player) and also got an Amazon one last mth (done thru Halifax card services I think).

Aynways got accepted but got message to give em a call. Thought they would prob try and flog me summat so left it, but have just had a pin turn up and email saying accepted!

Gr8 result ta as getting V+ installed next Fri and now in effect it is only costing me £35!!!

Voted hot, just got my card with a dangerous £11,300 interest free until next april (15 months) . They will even pay straight into the bank - some savings accounts pay 5.6% after tax so 11k after 15 months would pay £791 interest - minus the £337 balance transfer fee (2.98%) would make £454 profit. I think this idea was on moneysavingexperts weekly e-mail a short while ago

I've actually done this. Applied. Got my Virgin credit card. Still havent found anywhere to link my Virgin bill to get my £40 off.

Guy on the phone said something would come through the post - nothing with card.

Has anyone claimed this and HOW do you actually get the £40 credit taken off?
#33

#34

Just checking, did you enter your Virgin Media account number at the time of applying for the credit card?
