Checked eBay and this is still cheaper by a few pounds. Cheapest item I could find to get the free delivery was a resistor for 29 pence.

I bought the previous version of this kit and found it useless. The cutting blades crumbled as soon as they approached something harder than butter, and the sanding discs wore out in seconds.

Your mileage may vary of course but it was a waste of the tenner-odd I paid for it.

The rotary tools I've had from Maplin have been... of dubious quality. Most broke immediately on first use, the rest didn't last long. I stick with Dremel, now.

My experience is different to the comments.MY blades have cut through steel slowly but got the job done.i am happy with mine

I have this set and although I have only used the grinding discs to cut through old screws and the sanding wheels to shape skirting corners, both of these lasted as long as the dremel originals supplied with my tool and made short work of everything I threw at them. There is quite a bit in the kit I've not used though!

One observation I would make is that I think that this is almost always on special offer and spends as much time at 9.99 as it's 'usual' price......
