But 2000 contrast? :(
You can buy better brands for £700 now tbh

These Aldi deals always look good on paper but when you actually compare like for like spec it's always putting you hand just a little deeper to buy branded.

Let's be honest, if you're making your first purchase and you buy a pup you'll always have that bitter taste in your mouth.

Besides, do they have this set working in the store? Do they have a no-quibble returns policy in the event it's pants?

Aldi do have no quibble returns if your not happy or anything happens in the first 12 month take it back for a full refund.Don't forget it has a 3 year guarantee too.

People were using it as 'upgrade guarantee' simply taking their tv back when the next model came out 6 months later ... they changed it atleast several months ago...

Apparently they have been rather unhelpful with people wanting to return TV's bought when they were still sold with the 12 months guarantee...

Indeed the early 2007 onwards Aldi "30 day refund policy" is spelt out in a leaflet which you can download from:
http://www.aldiwarranty.co.uk/download/66880_Leaflet_NoTicks.pdf

Where it specifically says:

"Everything’s covered by our 30 Day Refund Policy

"Sometimes you can buy something and when you get it home, it’s ‘just not quite right’.

"We understand this. So we’re happy to refund or replace any item you buy from us. As long as you return the item within 30 days of purchase – with a receipt, in original and undamaged packaging, complete with any accessories such as headphones or remote controls – the Aldi 30 Day Refund Policy is available to every customer."

And although I'm sure the original print of this leaflet did not include this statement, it certainly does now include: "IMPORTANT The Aldi 30 Day Refund Policy and Manufacturer’s Warranty do not affect customers’ statutory rights."

Good point, I assume it has 2 at least.;-)

Yeah, it will have them.
With this return policy, if it actually broke within the 3 years could you get your money back? Or just within 30days?

I would think if its within 12 month then Aldi are required by law to sort it not the manufacturer. After that you would have to send it to the makers which would cost a fair bit.I had a 9" angle grinder i bought from aldi which packed in after the 12 months i rang the warranty place to be told you have to pay for postage to us then we mend it and post it back. The grinder was only £25 in the first place so not worth the hassle of paying for postage its a heavy item.
