Looks like a good price for a 42" TV.

This TV is about as good as you will get for under a grand, only thing I will say is I am not sure how good a deal this is as I got this TV 3 months ago for £809 delivered. £999 is still a great price for this TV but you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere!

voted cold i'm afraid.

this is an old model that has been replaced by this;

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3330595/Panasonic_Viera_42_TH_42PX70PED_HD_Ready_Freeview_Plasma_TV/Product.html

which as you will note is cheaper than the old model (not due out for a few weeks yet).

updated panel, updated looks - no need to go for the old model at +£50 unless you particularly want silver.

For the record the old model is my TV - so yes it is a good TV, but if i was buying now i'd wait and get the new model.

Hope that helps

Hi OrigamiNinja just wondering were you managed to get that deal!!

Hi Penni, I got it from Currys (online) they had it in the sale for £899 and I also had a 10% off code plus a free delivery code. Not sure if Currys are still selling this model but you should check them and elsewhere because I am sure you could pick it up for less than the £999 stated in this thread. As another poster stated why pay £999 for this when the newer model si £50 cheaper? Please note though that although the older model is being superseded it is still a top quality TV that only 12 months ago was selling for around £2K so dont be put off the older model thinking that you are buying years old technology, as it still better than most of the new plasmas from other manufacturers!

indeed i paid 1495 for it in June 2006.

still a good tv, but makes sense to go for newer model.

this model is pretty much out of stock everywhere now at the lower price. looks like next picked up a bunch to flog off.

Just ordered the one off play.com.. called them to ask if they can tell me a delivery date so I can arrange to be in.. the customer service is bloomin' hopeless..they'won't know til an hour before!
what a pain!
just a warning about play.com if you , like me, we tempted by the http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...V/Product.html deal
