Product Description
The Acer ICONIA Tab W Series comes in a hybrid design that combines the portability of a multi-touch tablet and the full productivity of a standard notebook. Enjoy hands-on multimedia using the touch capabilities, or attach the dock-able keyboard (sold separately) to quickly transform the tablet into a mini-workstation.

The ICONIA Tab W Series weighs less than 1 kg and is smaller than a magazine. Multi-touch controls make using the tablet fun, while the full-size dock-able chiclet keyboard (sold separately) is great for typing. Two 1.3 MP webcams deliver quality chats, and you'll enjoy you up to 4 hours of unplugged HD video playback and 6 hours of Internet cruising thanks to the embedded Acer PowerSmart long-life battery pack.

Using the ICONIA Tab W Series puts you at the forefront of modern mobility where controls are just a touch away. Launch the Acer Ring to use the touch applications and built-in utilities for out-of-this world experiences. You'll find the user interface a delight; while the handy Device Control Console lets you modify device settings and access peripheral ports and devices from graphical menus

Enhance how you surf the web by using onscreen gestures to zoom, flip and scroll on TouchBrowser, and collect web clippings on My Journal. Acer clear.fi lets you organize, share and enjoy your favourite media across different devices within your home network. You'll appreciate full web browsing with Adobe Flash Player, and relax to the max with preloaded Internet games.

HD videos come alive on the 10.1" WXGA screen, which supports image auto rotation. An HDMI port connects to projectors and HDTVs for big-screen enjoyment of HD media. A dual-core AMD processor with integrated graphics delivers smooth multitasking and Internet video, while Dolby technologies make nice sound. I'm looking at buying a tablet. This seems like a good price for the device, but I personally found this a bit heavy for prolonged use/carrying.

Windows tablets look and sound terrible. The previews all state that the software interface just isn't up to the touch style of operation that the current Android or Apple based products have.
How long before youtube videos show the blue screen of death on these tablets too?!!

the 32gb ssd annnnd 2gb is the stumbling blocks here. Win7 is usefull to have on a tablet but I would prefer ubuntu / meego and dual boot with windows 7.

iOS is a feature phone os and still remains that .

Android is erm naff.

Interested what it is about android you find "naff"? Is it the high speed, endless flexibility, stability, high reliability or intuitiveness of the controls?
Compare this to any MS or linux windows based system, and you'll quickly see that the capacititive screens sadly don't have the accuracy for little crosses in the corners to close windows, or complex menus that are otherwise easy with a mouse. Good luck if that's what you're looking for, but reading all the reviews I think you're on a hiding to nothing, and looking for a use that the tech just isn't suitable for.

Quickly is an understatement, Windows actually looks stunning and the touch input is perfect on this tablet, that is until you try and press something, or use the keyboard... windows simply isn't ready for touch input yet, which is annoying because if you were able to use your tablet as a tablet. then plug in a mouse and keyboard when you get home and have the full windows experience, these would sell like crazy...
