Misco sells it for more than £500. We were so impressed by it, we ordered one... Sitting next to me now.

Pretty impressed by it. Will see how it goes... Too much crapware on it through... Will revert to XP Pro most certainly.

http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/reviews/review.phtml/3576/4600/asus-n10j-notebook-pc-review.phtml

does 1024x600 (the same as a netbook)

I'd ideally want to pick something up for XNA development and this might be alright for on the go stuff

Battery Life 2-3 Hours (This Specific Model 2.5-hours) - that could do with being better at this price range, especially as it seems to be aimed at business users.

Their for light use only. As bare in mind Celeron is faster than Atom. We need dual core Atom

Asus put way too much bloatware on their systems.

Hmm, seem pricey considering they using the cheap atom cpu and only 2gb ram. but look very stylish though

wwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww this is rubbish.
this doesn't even have 3g!!!
if you want something for gaming buy a laptop with a decent processor and big screen
if you want somthing stylish with good battery life buy a freakin nc10 for £150 less
this is way overpriced.

£450 for that spec??? Suprised this deal ain't colder than a penguin's posing pouch. 2-3 battery life, NC10 similar spec, blows this out of the water.
#10
Too expensive for what it is - cold.

Can anyone show me a laptop with

2GB RAM
250GB HDD
External DVD writer
Vista Business with XP Pro
Dedicated Video card
Weighing 1.3Kg
A 10-inch screen
Fingerprint technology

Thanks!

i didn't see anything about an external dvd player
even if there is i am not parting with that sort of money for a netbook with a poxy fingerprint reader

Would you mind quoting me a laptop with similar specs?

We don't need to - anyone laying this sort of money for this has more of it than sense!

Manufacturers really do assume punters are still stupid even in these times of economic woe!

From http://reviews.techcastnetwork.co.uk/2009/01/07/asus-n10j/

"... In my video playback tests, the N10J wasn’t able to playback 720p HD video but did playback standard resolution and DVD videos perfectly well even on the Intel chip. It’s a slight disappointment when you consider that it’s got a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor and 2GB of RAM but when you remind yourself that this is a Netbook, things do make sense. However, that leaves me to wonder why you would need a dedicated graphics chip in the first place if not to boost video playback, then what? Play Crysis? ... "

Brrrr this is a cold one:viking:!!!!

A better graphic but 2-3 hours battery life too short for a Atom Netbook, don't know have bigger battery pack or not?
#16
Other website said it with "Altec Lansing" speaker is it true? and have bigger battery pack can last about 6.5 hours.
#17
Why has it got a pretty good mobile GPU yet a poor CPU? Could have instead been installed with those ultra-mobile and lower power intel core 2's e.g. penryn & penryn-3M low voltage cpu's - Core 2 Duo SL9300/SL9400 & Core 2 Duo SU9300/SU9400
#18
Why would you get one of these over the NC10?

I have had two notebooks with Altec Lansing speakers. Don't get your hopes up; they won't make much difference to the limits the notebook's body places on sound.

i suggest to all those who want something new to show off to their mates in the office to get a everun note for under £550. is dual core, handles 1080p comfortably, has 3g, fingerprint mouse, weighs less than 700g and is touchscreen!! if you just want a good spec netbook for everyday use get an nc10 or acer for £150 from asda if you've been credit crunched.
