Weird, but might try this!
The comment on the youtube clip says: "you aren't actually sharpening the razor. If you look under a microscope, you can see that the cutting edge of a razor is extremely thin and curls in on itself during normal use. This merely uncurls the metal, making it usable again."
#6
yeah it kinda works you are basically honing the blade, you would be better using a proper razor strop than a pair of jeans though.

I've used this method after someone posted it on here early last year. It works great!

If helps anyone I work at Sainsburys in Gloucester, northgate street and we have Fushion shavers complete with 2 heads reduced down to £1.50. these are located behind the Kiosk.
#15
Hmmm... not on 3 for 2 in Ipswich...

Good price if you can find them though - one pack of 12 Fusion Blades does me for a year.

Not 3 for 2 in Leicester fosse park either. Says 3 for 2 on mens grooming excludes razors & blades :-( Sales assistant scanned to make sure.

This is a Good Deal when you compare it to other deals for Gillette Razor Blades.

Just out of interest, does anybody else simply use the basic BIC Razors where you can get 10 x BIC Razors for £1, and each of them will last you for 5-6 weeks even when shaving a full beard once a week?

Fancy Razors like "Gillette Mach 3" seem to have become somewhat fashionable over the last 10 years or so. However, each Blade in this Hot Deal still works out to be at nearly 10 times the price of a Basic BIC Razor, so it's difficult to understand why so many people automatically buy the much more expensive fancy Razor Blade brands?

;)

In Boots today, nobody could tell me about this offer!
#21
Tried to get this deal in store in Buchanan Galleries Glasgow earlier, 3 for 2 offer did not apply, girl at checkout said that the value packs are not included in the offer for some reason :(
#22
So should this offer be expired then? I would head down to get some but looks like it is excluded.

The shaving experience varies for each and everyone depending on your age and type of stubble. When I was in my twenties I could get away with shaving every couple of days but now in my forties I have the classic 5 o'clock shadow by the end of the working day so a daily shave is vital to look presentable when I'm at work.

Just as the hair on your head varies between everyone so does it on your face. Mine seems quite course and value razors like a Bic just can't "cut it" (lol) and rip my neck apart even using quality shaving products and shaving in the right direction of the hair so a good quality razor is vital to me.

I'm just so jealous of young guys now who seem to be able to get away with unshaven look as "fashionable" whereas if I try it at the weekends my wife and young daughter moan about my rough face and I look as if I slept on a park bench.

Sometimes you just have to pay for a quality product.

Good deal, thats the wifes present sorted. I'm sick of her tash.
#25
if you buy a merkur safety razor, not only do you get a much closer shave, 10 blades are usually less than £1, making this an extremely cold deal.

I take your point but a contradictory factor in what you've said is that during World War II for example, Men had to be clean shaven to look presentable.

During that period in time they didn't have access to the fashionable technological Razor Blades like "Gillette Mach 3" because they obviously hadn't been invented yet and they had to make do with a very basic Razor Blade and every single one of them seemed to shave absolutely perfectly. Have you ever seen a Wartime photograph where a Soldier had a cut face from a shaving injury, because I haven't.

It amazes me that Gillette and other Razor Blade manufacturers have convinced so many consumers over the last 10 years into believing that a technologically advanced Razor Blade is a necessity, when in reality it is as vital as technologically advanced loo roll.

Fair point but they didn't use Bics either.

Merkur handles seem to be about £20+ and blades are coming up at £5 for 10. I would love to try this shaver system but I am always shaving in a rush so this would probably beast my face. And I am always leaving my razor in hotels and friends houses so prefer a cheap but quality shave system.

I am using the King of Shaves Azor at the moment and seem to get a good shave from it.

Been to my local city store they have neither the 45 Mach 3 or the 36 Fusion blades. Is this a localise deal as the shop assistants looked a bit blank when I asked?

get a knock off merkur...they can be had for a bout 7 quid, the blades are standard double edge razor blades...50 blades can be had off the auction site for about 4 quid.

If you just search for merkur they will get you over a barrel!

blades are not up for 3 for 2 at all
#32
Tried the three for two offer at BOOTS, Bristol.on 26 Dec...................was shown the sign above the display which clearly states that razor blades are not included in the 3 for 2 offer
