Good TV, but if you like the advantages of LCD over plasma, this is a great option.

I think they will, is part of their policy. Just pop down to one of the stores and you will see the terms and conditions.

Does anybody know if the 200Mhz is real? Would this work with the NVIDIA 3D vision which requires at least 120Mhz.

I am not sure if this TV is really 200Mhz any ideas?

Is a great price, but I wouldn't get excited over the 200hz I think its a waste of time, always turn mine off.

Should be able to find the LH4000 even cheaper if the price is dropping on the 5000. Virtually the same TV except its 100hz instead of 200hz.

I think the 4000 may be hard to find - I think it's being discontinued. Currys have no plans to get anymore in, and the only othher options are few.

When you say you turn it off, what do you turn it off for? Most people turn it off for movies, but the 100hz/200hz are more important for viewing such as sports (which is a god-send for non-plasma TVs).

If its still within 7 days of when you payed for it you should be fine, they will refund the difference. If you kick up fuss politely to the managers they will definately do it as they would prefer to give you the difference rather than lose the sale.

I couldn't say for sure but I think this may be your legal right within 7 days anyway (Not sure about this though!).

Anyway good deal though!

Can you just refuse the delivery or not answer the door?

In essence you could still call up and cancel once you did 'miss' the delivery.

I don't think you're stuck either way.

Its not a true 200hz, the screen is 100hz and the backlight is switched on and off at 100hz so LG say its 200hz, so the panel is really 100hz, its good for sports but has some bad side effects on other pictures, most people turn it off.

Its horrid, I found both the 4000 and the 5000 to give a better picture with the True Motion off, you just get a nasty 'soap opera' effect. LCD and sport are naff anyway without a HD Input on LCD although comparatively to some other brands they both have a reasonable SD picture.

TBH I found the 4000 and 5000 having truemotion on only increasesartifacting on footie, if desperate I will only turn it on to low.

True which is why if you can find a 4000 for cheaper you may be better off. I bought the 4000 a mate bought the 5000 an Still think I got the better deal.

Ok, but your mate must not have got the 5000 at anywhere near this price or the price you paid for the 4000 - so, in essence, you saying that you had the better deal is a moot point.

The 5000 is better than the 4000. That's not even debateable. You can't find the 4000 cheaper (when I say cheaper, I mean more than a paltry £16). I'd hate people to read this thread and think this TV is not a top TV for the price, as it really isn't fair to those who are less informed on HDTV buying.

You missed my point completely.

My point was yes this is an excellent price but if you can find the 4000 you may save yourself even more now that this set is obviously on the out.

Please don't feel you have to protect the world from other peoples thoughts and opinions, you will sleep better at night.

Holy Crap! That is a great deal. There are some differences between the sets, but there is no doubt that deal is a corker. If only these were around 2 months ago.
