What on earth are you going to do with an inordinate amount of batteries which have nearly reached their use by date? Dunnobut , here are some possible uses for your new inordinate amount of C type batteries

Power your Rampant Rabbit (they`re heavy duty batteries!)
Move to the woods and pretend you`re Ray Mears. Survive on batteries by building rafts with them and taking out wild animals by using them as slingshot ammo
Throw them at Amish people (that never gets old)
Use one as an alternative guitar pick. It`ll soon catch on!
Build historical landmarks
Sell them on eBay. Boring, but profitable
Type in `Battery Hack` on YouTube and make cool things!

1. They are brand new and all packed in retail packs of 4 batteries. (You get 120 x 4 retail packs)
2. They are Memorex branded
3. The packaging looks nice
4. The use by date on them is 2010
5. They are allegedly heavy duty
6. They work out at under 0.002p per battery

Did you 'Boffer' with these?

I did...no idea why! What will I do with them all!
#3
Looks a good boffer for a change if you have use for C cells:thumbsup:
#4
Can't find a use for them myself, but hot deal if you can.

Also, more like 0.83p each.
#5
I bought them, a few of the kids toys use C cells - I'd never be able to go in a shop and buy any for the rest of my life if I'd passed this one up.
#6
Worked out that package for batteries will be 15KG .The mood the posties are in right now you may get assault and battery after they delivers this on there bike.lol
#7
great deal ... who cares when there meant to be used by ..... if your doin a car boot anyway .. buy them ... 50p a pack ...... sorted!!!
#8
Wire 160 of the kiddies together that would give you 160 x 1.5 = 240v

Hey we could run our house on it!!! Brilliant, it would last all of... well maybe not as long as it takes to wire them all together. Then when finished I could drive to the tip and land fill them all.

You won't power your Rampant Rabbit, they use AA & AAA batteries!!:whistling:
#10
Ordered, but surely the postage will cost more than they're charging? Have Boffer dropped a bo!!ock?
#11
be carefull folks, they expire next year ,normally means 1 thing.

they could leak.

last lot i got from boffer leaked all over kids toys
#12

my other halfs got the wider one, it does take c size. these should last a week at least.
#15
Hot deal, but I don't think I've ever used a C sized battery for anything in my life!
Would be nice if it was AA, or AAA, or D.

They will not use royal mail so proberly get a good deal but i do agree postage should be high but will free up a lot of warehouse space i guess these will be worth even closer to nothing next year to them

They'd probably have to pay to dispose of them. Even breaking even on postage is probably good enough for them.

All gone! damn just missed out...
#20
I'll buy a load to sell down at Riley's Cafe, I always hear them complaining about Batteries Not Included.
#21
sold out, that was quick.. managed to get some lol

Mines take the 'D' size.

Shame they only had the small ones :-D

Bought a box anyway. She will just have to down size ;-)

Each battery will probably last no longer than 10 secs - unlike moi who can keep going all night long. Just like the Duracell Bunny! :-D
#26
That is a great offer, but:

"Heavy duty" is a code word for poor batteries. Good batteries would mention the technology.

The cost is about 0.01 per battery, and that's pound, not p.

And moving to the woods - hardly. These batteries will only produce about 100 W for a few hours. So maybe a dimly lit evening in the woods, but no PS3.

'Heavy duty' = Zinc Chloride = Rubbish batteries.
'Duracell/Energiser/other marketing BS = Alkaline batteries = 10times capacity of rubbish ones.

When ever I buy non rechargeables I just buy the cheapest alkaline ones I can find, ignoring all the gumpf about turbo this, ultra that etc.

Just got my tracking info. Being delivered via City Link.
This deal must have cost Boffer a fortune!

So....any ideas on what to do with 480 batteries:? lol

Amazing service, 24kg of batteries delivered today in 4 seperate boxes sent next day delivery for less than £4. Might pop into cash converters , plan to do a car boot soon and sell for 50p a packet if cash converters don't offer much
#32
I only got 2 boxes...thats 240 right?

3x10 packs in each box. I have 2 boxes...hmm...will need to get onto Boffer!

EDIT: It seems they are sending them in batches, so will have to wait!
#33

I would go by end of 2010 as technically, we'll still be within it...
#38
thegroutch
date on batteries says:

Use Before
2010

does that mean they have to be used before the end of this year, or next year???

That depends on whether you are buying or selling :whistling:
