The Sandisk Ultra II 480gb is currently only £94 on Amazon (usually £99). It seems a slightly better drive, in my opinion. The link for the Sandisk, if anyone is interested, is here:

Yup. Very close performance, very close price.

And yeah Kingston have been a bit naughty in the past.

Thanks! I didn't know that. I've now blacklisted Kingston for all my memory needs.

I like others thought exactly the same of Kingston but this makes interesting reading - http://www.thessdreview.com/daily-news/latest-buzz/harsh-reality-false-bait-switch-ssd-claims-learning-run-flash/
( I probably still won't get a Kingston, however I won't buy a Samsung, 2 failures so far & they are always overhyped, Crucial for me)
This deal has expired btw

That seems to justify changing components because the product line was always a value product which it might have been but the original reviews were based on the first batch and buyers bought on that basis.... for them to say it's OK to now revert to lower performance components because it was always a budget value product is still dishonest as they made no effort at all to identify any change.

More SSD's seem to be taking the budget route so all you can do is rely on reviews..... which is fine until a manufacturer changes the ingredients halfway through and makes no point of mentioning this whatsoever.

It's like buying a car that gets great reviews only to find 6 months later they put in a totally different engine and tell no one.
