£49.00 - DeWalt 1/4 Sheet Orbital Palm Sander - Amazon

£49.00 @ Amazon
Cheapest price this has ever been on Amazon. Great sander and can be used with a Henry Hoover to minimise dust. Also uses standard 115mm width sheets that you can buy cheaply in a roll.

Thanks op - good spot, ordered one as back up - i use these a lot and work them hard- linked up to my george hoover it's a good match. I paid £80 last time i bought one. Mine came with a plastic plate that punctures the sanding sheets to allow suction.

When hand cream just does not cut it!

anyone advise would this be any good for taking a mm or 2 off the bottom of a door?

I reckon you'd be better off with a planner for a quicker more consistent job, but you could do it with one of these

Now sold out, but worth keeping an eye for more stock. Amazon usually get it in fairly quickly.

Not really (well,I suppose it could be made to work, but it would be slow, messy and inconsistent). Use a plane (a hand pane would be fine for just one door) or if you have clearance at the top just move the hinges down 2mm.
