Hi,

I am not interested in the Golf - What is the Free Upgrade? and I cannot see how you select it?

Cheers

dont compare these ones with the village, may be same chain but a million miles away from the luxury ones. village are more like over priced travel lodges where these are normally excellent hotels.

#11
Upgrade is from a standard room to a queen or four poster for the same price.
#12
you realise this is cheaper than a night in a travel inn?!

i'll be taking the chicks here in future for the seedy one night stand!
#13
stayed here for a good few weeks

hotel is fine, nothing great but good for £49

if you dont have a car you're ****ed as its a 15-20 minute drive to macclesfield and a good bit further to manchester

I deliver to this place 6 days a week.

The product I deliver is first rate, and the new head chef,by all accounts,is blinding.

Most Premier clubs stay here when playing United.

Being a red,I like to have the craic with the opposing team :)

Okay booked two rooms at this place Thursday I'll give it a go. Took advantage of the W31 code seems good value getting the upgrade as well can't play golf so seemed a better option.

Are you aware of the menu for this deal or is it just 3 courses from the normal menu with no restrictions?

Cheers
#19
we spent our wedding night here and were severely disappointed - all the champagne + flowers etc that were promised didn't materialise and the room was smelly and small - I hate devere!!! I certainly resented paying the bill - crap service all round :(

I won't be voting either way as know nothing about golf, but I certainly wouldn't touch this hotel chain with a bargepole!
#20
Was it in this hotel llisted above, and what room did you get
#21
yes mottram hall - no idea of the room name as it was a few years ago sorry
#22
Okay stayed here last night in a Executive room Patio & Lakeside view. Used w31 code for free upgrade (don't play golf)

The Good:
Nice room clean (237)
Loads of Tea, Coffee & Hot Chocolate in the room and biscuits.
Set Menu was okay 3 course with around 5 choices of starer main & Sweet or £20 credit of normal menu.
Bath robes
nice swimming pool.
nice grounds to walk round

Not Good:
10% Service charge added to your meal regardless so for 4 of us having the set meal this was £12:00 tip

Note pushed under the door about 2am saying they would add an extra £1:00 to my bill for a charity fund raiser.

Paying by credit card on check out was £2.50 extra (£3.50 if using Amex)

When we checked out quired the add ons and all of them taken off, just check the biil before you leave otherwise yes I would stay here again.

3 quid tip per head on a 3 course meal that would've cost £120 - and a pound for charity - and you had them taken off??......

the phrase tighter than a ducks **** springs to mind

Yep, I think you misunderstand they add them without regard to service (which wasn't that great) which I hate, I don't mind leaving a tip but 10% is way over £5 for four of us would have been fair for the service which I won't go in to.

Was the meal worth £120.00 not really, I think you may be on the wrong website if you're happy to give away money that is neither deserved or fair. I guess you would have been happy with the credit card charge as well because that was only £2.50/£3.50 extra.

I do mind being mugged for an extra quid so they can say they have donated to charity. If you had been asked at checkout fine, but a note under the door is wrong. To be fair it's people like you that allow them to get away with this sort of thing, next time you check out of an Hotel "grow a pair" and query the bill.

the phrase "A fool and his money are easily parted" springs to mind :whistling:

what a load of old cack ..........'Giving away money'? ...the deal was £89 for two in a Georgian country house hotel ...with a 3 course Dinner and all you can eat breakfast....and a round of Golf thrown in for good measure......the food, the restaurant and the service were all excellent ....certainly to a standard that most people would have been more than pleased with - but unfortunately there's always penny pinching tightwad's like yourself who want something for nothing....get yourself and Travelodge next time....no hidden extras....suit you down to the ground

Your opinion not mine, it was £89 with the upgraded room but no golf as far as I know and £49 PP with golf, please correct me if I'm wrong. Pleased to hear you had good service but like I said ours wasn't great and as such I reserve the right to tip accordingly not be expected just to accept it like "most people".

Never stayed at at Travelodge but would try anything once, a bit like Mottram Hall gave it a go and would stay again, still get the add ons taken off.

People on this website are here to save money otherwise they would not be looking and penny pinching tightwad's is a phase which surely must be applied to anyone reading these pages (including you).

My comments which you seem to have taken offense too are to warn other like minded people, it is up to them what they do. :p

There's really nothing to warn anyone about - it was an excellent deal and easily worth the money, and the service charge - ....but Im sure fellow tight a***s will take heed....btw, Travelodges will come in at roughly the same price......no dinner or breakfast included obviously....but there's a vending machine in the lobby....no tips required so your laughing

Your a funny guy, thanks for the tip on the Travelodges, but I'll stick with the best deal I can get for my money like this one.

We stayed there a couple nights ago and had a great time. The room was very clean, but no tea/coffe etc but we did not know if we were getting that anyway.

Meal was very nice and service was excellent and breakfast was also very nice. We also seen the 10% service charge of £8 something on our bill but when we checked out all what was there was our drinks bill and nothing else.

In total the cost was about £110 and for what we got it was excellent value.

Tea and coffee was in the cupboard under the TV along with the kettle in our room, pleased your bill was right at check out.
