Been looking around for one of these TV's for a while and came across this cracking deal. Yes I fully understand the new one is due out soon hence the price crash but it's still cheap for what is currently one of the best TV's on the market (excluding OLED panels) and the added bonus of a 4K blu-ray player chucked in with 3 films and a 6 year warranty just sweetens the deal.

It is in store only but they do have a few shops dotted around the UK. Also my understanding is if they don't have stock in store they can get it ordered in for the same price.

Impressive Full specs:

Looks like Full 10bit, and 21ms response time, seems ideal for consoles.

I know where you can get the KS8000 65" for £1495, and John Lewis will price match if you prefer to buy from JL

Am right in thinking the ks7/8000 use the same panel?

I have a ks7000 and it's great. At the time, when looking, I couldn't tell any difference between the 7/8000 in terms of picture quality

I believe the only difference between the two are the slightly higher processing rate and less input lag slightly and of course the stand. Which was the main reason I opted for this as the ks7000 stand just wouldn't of worked for my set up situation.

Yeah I did want a 55" originally but due to the room sizing it would of just been overkill for the space unfortunately.

Good size and excellent spec. heat added!

The KS8000 seems to have better reviews than the new MU(?) models. Will the KS8000's still be available to buy come end of the year. Or will they start phasing them out now?

He said in the shop that they are starting to phase out and he imagines that once there gone then that's it as it's being replaced by the new model.

Any idea how long this deal will be available for?

It's entirely dependent on the viewing distance.

The motion processing is better in the 8000, deeper blacks and has more local dimming zones. Also the speakers are far far better! It has dual tuners too. It took a while to find this info though. oh and the stand is much sexier (imo). Oh and i have this 8000 at 49 and the 4k is not wasted (compared side by side with a 50" 1080p set.

What's SD like on this compared to the 1080p set?

it's better than oled faster motion etc LG oled is a watered down version of the original samsung oled that's why they are half the price of samsung oled ???

So for most people, the only real benefits are slightly better motion processing and better local dimming?

I don't get TV Manufacturers these days. They know nobody who buys a TV at this price uses the in-build speakers. That's why I hate that the E6 has that ugly-ass speaker underneath it.

To be fair....for general TV, the speakers in the KS8000 are really good. I mean, I have got mine rigged up to a Denon amp and Atmos sound so I can appreciate good sound. But honestly, it's really decent.

I have to agree though, why Samsung don't make the differences between their two sets abundantly clear, is beyond me.

Sd is crap on all sets, it's a crap picture being fed to it.

I have this 55 inch I paid £1450 for it. Mint, the stand and speakers are class compared to my last few samsungs. Hd is class and 4K. Use avforums YouTube video calibration settings for best picture

Guess it's even more crap on a 4K set.
