Heavenly Peace itinerary
Your dogs are eager for the off! Huskies are at their happiest when there is an adventure before them. You decide who is going to be the musher, guiding the team of dogs. In each sled, one additional person (or two small children) settles down to enjoy the ride. And then you're off on a journey, part of your 40-minute Husky Experience, through the wilderness, taking you out of sight of civilisation, where the trees bow under their burden of snow and the distant fells look mysterious in the half-light.

Your Husky Experience is a highlight of your four-night break with Transun. But there is so much more. From a Snowmobile Adventure to a kids' snowmobile, from a Search For Santa to a Festive Dinner, your short break is filled with magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.

Day One
After you land in Enontekio in Finland you will be guided to your coach. The journey (15 minutes to our hotels in Hetta or one hour to the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Karesuando) takes you through the heart of the Sami lands. Your all-in-one thermal suits and boots collection will be organised by your representative. After checking in at your hotel, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting and during dinner, your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of our optional activities, such as a Northern Lights safari by snowmobile. See FAQs for details.

Day Two
After breakfast, you will head out on your first safari - a 40-minute Husky Experience. This will be followed by a warming lunch. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free. This afternoon, you can join one of our optional excursions, perhaps Reindeer Herding or head out and make your own snow fun. Afterwards, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day Three

After breakfast, you will be joining your second included safari - the one hour snowmobile adventure. A warming lunch will then follow. A supervised kids' snowmobile ride will be available (see FAQs for details) or, if you're lucky, a chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer.

Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off In Search Of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift. After dinner, relax or join an optional activity.

Day Four

After breakfast, you head outside for a morning of family snow fun or you may want to go on one of our optional excursions such as trying your hand at Ice Fishing or drive your own reindeer on our Reindeer camp excursion. A warming lunch will be served. Afterwards, you might want to join in the indoor Christmas crafts. Or, relax indoors. This evening, enjoy a Festive Dinner. Afterwards, why not join an optional safari and hopefully encounter the beautiful Northern Lights?

Day Five
Check out after breakfast at 0900hrs. Then set off on one final adventure, a Wilderness Treasure Hunt! Alternatively, you have time for one last play in the snow or you could join another optional excursion. After lunch, depart for Enontekio and your flight home.

Guys we went 2 years ago, and we paid a lot more than this. I was hesitent at first but I have to say that it was fantastic. We went with Esprit but im pretty sure most of these are the same type of holidays. The Huskie ride was amazing, the hotel was nice, the organisation was great, the setting was beautiful and after all the events they organise for you (didnt do the northern lights trip) the icing on the cake was your very own sleigh ride to see the man himself (and yes he does exist !!!!!!). You get to see him in the middle of his forest with the elves, in his log cabin, you get time with him for questions and photos...oh and he also has the childrens letters that they had already posted before we even set off on the trip. Guys what im saying is this is a lot of money for a short trip but for those of you with children (mine were 5 and 8 at the time) it is magical, really magical. Hope anyone going this year has as good a time as we did, enjoy.
Should say FROM £499
I want to go and I don't even have kids! Reduced holiday packages scare me a little bit, though. Book it on a credit card or make sure you are covered in some other way. I am sure the company is fine but you can never tell at the moment.
awwww wanna go !
i went twice for the day trip its a must if you have children i would say to cold for younger children as it was - 18 when i went
Can I just check, is this the real Santa ?
If it's not, this is a lousy deal, and should be reported to Watchdog.
If it is, then this is the deal of the century.
Had a feb time at Lapland a few years back. Stayed at the Snow Princess hotel all inclusive. Booked as a last minute thing with first choice. 3 of us cost £1200.

I am a total hotel and holiday snob, even I had a fab time. Very romantic scenery, my son had the time of his life, out sledging till all hours.
Ive been and it was the best money I have ever spent on a holiday, this price is very good and I wouldve booked had work not gotten in the way, Ive just been quoted £1600 for 4 nights which is half what I would expect to pay. This is hot!
its sold out from stansted at this price cheapest now is 519 and 359 for children also be wary i found some bad reviews
We went on this exact holiday with Transun last year and had a brilliant time. Davvi Lodge had excellent views and is in the middle of nowhere but the Management was nowhere to be seen aswell and had english students running around doing the work. Lots of waiting around for the trips but once you get to do them they are worth the wait. Santa experience was absolutely fantastic - you get to go to meet Santa in his wooden lodge by smowmobile and then a short reindeer ride complete with elves. No other families with you for this particular visit so makes it all the more special. Anyway, would recommend this to anyone at that price especially those with small children.
I would love to do this- both boys born xmas so a great treat...although they will be 5 and 1...are they too young??
Very good deal, normally around 350-400 just for the day trip!

I definately think that your 1 year old would be too young places are quite remote so you need to hike around to places. we used sledges to take our kids who were 5 and 3. (id wait a couple of years)

Yes WAY to young!! Wait another 4 years ... your 5 year old will just be starting to disbelieve ... and it will reaffirm the magic for him, your 1 year old will be saucer eyed and remember it all!! At 1 year old he won't have a clue, and your 5 year old will taunt him about it forever!! Gives you a few years to save up for a really speacial holiday :)
