Don't want to sound rude, but why is this such a good computer? Is it the brand or the fact that it is very light? £500 is expensive for the specs I see.

Well there is £150 of SSD for a start.

I see the price drop just a few days after it's main competitor the HP Envy 13 had it's price slashed.
#5
yeah you would want atleast a i3 or 15 in there for that price.

lol, good luck finding one at this proce ! Plus the i3 and i5 dont fit in these I believe !

I can't see that any have sold on Ebay.

13.4" screen, 2GB RAM, "up to" 5 hour battery life. What is there about this machine to make it worth £500?

Maybe the fact that it comes with a 128GB SSD and is one of the thinnest laptops around. Try doing some background check using Google and read the reviews. It used to cost £1500 for a reason.

Go completed listongs, £550 plud postage.
They are very light weight, very good screen I believe and have a ssd included in the price, what more could you want in a ultra small format laptop? that is £499 !!
If people know about laptops then this will go hot big time, its not all about the high end spec for everyone.

Soooooo tempted....

I think cold voters are unfairly comparing this to other "standard laptops," this is an ultra portable machine, more comparable to the MacBook Air... Now the MacBook is better spec, but it's twice the cost.
#13
VERY tempted

How easy to upgrade ram?
#15
It is rated 3/5 on Cnet and Amazon.

I cannot see any successful completed listing of this on Ebay, they all seem to be unsold.

Maybe this deal will suit some, good luck if you go for it.

I think the RAM is soldered to the motherboard throughout the Adamo range. If anyone knows different, feel free to correct me.:)

**edit** I'll correct myself, it seems a number of companies sell memory modules for it. It has two slots, each supporting up to 4GB.

That one doesn't have a SSD and also has a slower processor.

My mate has one of these and its head and shoulders above anything in manufacture. Its the pc equivalent of a mac book air. Personally i've got an I7 dell studio laptop, but i'd still love to have one of those too ... Basically if you're after something small and beautiful, you CANNOT go wrong with this.

Why not a 1810tz?

Please do not compare this laptop with normal ULV laptop. This one is in different league. If you wish you should compare this one with Mac Book Air.

2 gb ram and 128 gb sd is a little off putting

Very expensive and to quite honest still over priced for what spec your getting. I think better money would be spent elsewhere. but if you want to show off in starbucks writing emails on a thin nice looking notebook, then this is for you...
#28
the spec is identical to the mac book air. what would you have?
this for £499 or the mac book air 11inch for £999
#29
Great find OP, there's nothing in this price bracket that could offer solid state storage.

Have some heat :)
#30
It may have an SSD but to me it looks like a glorified netbook. To me, it is not worth the price, but to others it possibly will be.

Because it's better in numerous ways to an ordinary 5400rpm laptop hard disk?
#37
Just pure win at this price, absolute steal. Spec is good too, better than the more expensive Adamo deals a few months ago from the same place. Amazing alternative to the MacBook Air.

it's all about build quality with this laptop, i really really wanted one but couldn't afford the price tag at the time so bought a netbook instead
this laptop was the thinnest around in 2010 (not sure now), and was the only real competitor for the macbook air on build quality/design/ultra-portability

Also like it has been mentioned above, a 128gb ssd in a laptop of this price is unheard of, so it's definitely a hot buy

(urgh if only i had £500 laying around, these are soooo pretty!)

Just pure win at this price, absolute steal. Wonder where they are getting the stock from, and how they are managing to keep reducing the price!

They can only get them from Dell, where else?
Dell have pulled it from the UK site and marked the price down a lot in the US this week.
I presume it has been a very poor seller and they just want to shift stock.
These were silly money when they came out but good value now especially with the large SSD.

Oh and it will fly with the SSD. Ignore the fact its only 2GB memory, the SSD will make it feel really fast and responsive.
