Just a heads up for fellow virginmedia customers, that they have an 12 month sim only offer that you may be happy with.

If you are with rival BT, or other, you may find similar discounted sim only contracts so worth having a look at your providers benefits.

Sign into your account using the link it put on this deal, or click on this https://store.virginmedia.com/existing-customer/my-offers/offers? and scroll down to the mobile sim offer.

Things that attracted me apart from the best price I could find, are that it's on the EE network which happens to be the best coverage for my circumstances, and that any unused data will be automatically rolled over and added to the next months allowance.

£8 month
4Gb 4G data (unused data rolled over to next month).
EE network.
2500 minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited data when using whatsapp and Facebook Messenger apps.
12 month contract / £96 for the year.
Calls and data allowance also applies in the EU now like all contracts.

I found this deal as a result of advice from fellow user Somnus

Thanks for the recognition! And in actual fact I think I'll be following your advice: while I was looking at a few deals I came across the BT Family SIM. There's a deal similar to this one that's £25 for 3 users and £31 for 4 users. Works well if you've got the numbers. Includes BT WiFi access too

Any price increase any time soon?

Any price increase any time soon?

The 1st July 2017 virgin mobile price increase was for inflation and I think added 24 pence. Expect the same around the same time next year.
If there is a yearly price increase on your basic contract higher than inflation then I think you can actually leave the contract if you fancy. Something like that
#7
Signal is not that fast in central London areas . And other problem is virgin does not have any ui for missed calls . Like hullomail...
#8
Came here to post this. Saw it as an offer on my account and managed to get it on an existing contract after 3 days of haggling. They were trying to fob me off saying it's for new contracts only but I couldn't see it mentioned anywhere in the T&Cs.

Best deal iv'e seen at £8 i wonder if plusnet will match it.If not i think i'll be going back to Virgin.

It's available to me if I sign in to my account

I upgraded my 3 household phones last month to the 5Gb package at £10 per month. I was hoping to move 1 of them onto this 4Gb package but it was not available to me. However, something better was - when I went into Manage Addons, there was a £2 per month lifetime discount available which I could apply and maintain my current package. This was available for each of my 3 phones, so 2500 mins, unlimited texts, 5Gb 4G data and rollover for £8 per month. Check in your manage addons area.

Hmmm, I pay £7.50 a month for 250 minutes and 1GB data with giff gaff, so this is much better. But then again, I never run out of minutes or bandwidth, so I would be paying 50p extra a month for nothing!

Hi den169,
Try logging in to your virgin account (not virgin mobile) and you can go to your offers. Or log in and then click on my link, and it should to show up existing customer offers as you are previously logged in.
I actually did it from my iPhone and when I added the phone sim offer and went on to order it asked for my username and password, as I couldn't remember my password I just selected the option to set up a new account with a different email and that still worked!

think the title should be changed to Virgin, not EE. Yes they use the EE network, but it's not through EE, and now even appears to be out of stock (even when signed in to my virgin media account 12£ it comes to

I grabbed the 20gb package from BT, already had fibre with them anyway, deal worked out to £7.70 a month when i finally get the amazon £100 voucher, otherwise it would have been £16 a month.

Was with plusnet mobile for 4 months, they asked about whether i contacted them about staying with them, knew there was no way they could match the deal i got from BT.

I was happy enough with 4gb £10 a month deal with Plusnet, although it was a pain getting through to customer service to get my PAC code though.

Surprising how easy it is to get to 4gb usage in a month. My free Spotify account on my phone is taking a kicking in work with a 20gb data allowance now :D

When I phoned virginmobile yesterday they could not access this deal dispite being able to establish I was a virginmedia broadband/homephone/TiVo customer. The best they could do with 4gb mobile data was £12. So, do not bother with virginmobile to get this deal as they will conclude it is no longer available.

The good news is this deal through Virginmedia (not virginmobile) is ongoing and has not expired. To double check this, I asked my dad to help verify it this evening, as he also has virginmedia services at home. He followed the link in my post on his iPhone, was immediately asked to log in to his virginmedia (not virginmobile) account, once done he was brought to the page showing his existing customer offers with the deal at the bottom. You should be able to log in to your virgin media account without the link, just select My Virgin Media at the top, and under that near the top select My Upgrades & Offers, then scroll down to the sim offer. Here are screen shots my dad took this evening:

The virginMOBILE operator can't see this deal so is saying it is expired. This is not true, otherwise my father this evening, and others on this thread and myself wouldn't be able to access it

Better to ring virginmedia as the offer is from them for existing customers, not from virginMOBILE whose operators can't access this deal.

By the way, when you log in to your virginmedia account, can you see the link at the top for My Virgin Media and My Upgrades & Offers? Like in my photo/screenshot above? If so do you only get offers for TV/broadband/homephone, but no sim offer under that? If not then yeah give virginmedia a call

So this is basically EE and they offer rollover data yet EE themselves don't offer rollover?!

Presume a technicality with the affiliation with Virgin Media. Poop though.
#28
This is better than my currrent giffgaff tarrif but what has always put me off Virgin is the lack of tethering. Wish they wouldn't dictate how i use the 1's and 0’s. It's not like its unlimited

offer roll over data, but charge you for going over at 3£ per gb as virgin do not allow you to cap it
#30
This offer is still showing for me. I have Virgin Media broadband so logged into my account and clicked on mobile/upgrades. £8 is mighty tempting. But with giffgaff 1) I can tether, and 2) Never have to worry about overspending or unexpected charges on calls or internet - on Giffgaff it just doesnt work if it's not included in the bundle and your balance is £0. One less thing to worry about.

Come on Virgin Media. Just add tethering and capping and you'll get my money.
#31
On my £23 EE sim, if I run out of data they charge me £7 for 1gb - that's just for a week as well. Had no choice to pay it as EE wouldn't 'do me a favour'. When I previously was with T-Mobile before EE there were a couple of times they sorted me out

Fair one there. The cap is a good thing and would rather that!

well they did ring me just now and gave me the offer,Still nothing on my account to get this.2 sims on there way if plusnet come back and match i'll stay with them. But an extra 1gb roll over 1000mins and free whatsapp and facebook data for same price swings it.

Was still able to get this deal now. Didn't show when I used link and logged into virgin media account but did show when I did the exact same thing on my phone off my wifi. Was able to order entirely online with no phone call needed.

Good deal - thanks.

No Joy for me, and CS deny this offer even exists.
I think part of my problem is that I have media retention deals on my account, so it wont let me upgrade without speaking to CS.

I got this deal but decided i don't need the 4GB data so went to the website to cancel. While there I noticed I could change the plan to 2500 mins unlimited texts and 2GB data for £5 so did that.

Hi, has anyone received their sim card yet? I chose the free delivery option of 5-7 days but I haven't received it yet. 5-7 days is a ridiculous amount of time.
